i thought dodgeball was always like that where you have "out" kids outside that can still throw.
but anyways soccer is so popular here even tho we don't have much of a league or the national team never does well in any international tournaments. people still love it becuz they grew up playing.
and looks like @davidke20 was here too :)
i'm not a fan of the worldcup becuz it's just nationalism to me. but sometimes fun to watch with some beer and fried chicken.. 🐻
Exactly!
I'm not talking about nationalism or rationalism 🤣 it's just the way how boys hangout. World cup is just the "excuse", and the ball is a "tool" to get there! One ball, one whole world are participating with chicken and beer 🤣

haha yes it's just that koreans take it way too seriously.
soccer players that make a lot of money are also exempt from the mandatory military service. it's like blatant corruption and bribery that everybody's ok with.
When I grew up out players didn't play. Maybe the gym teachers just liked it that way. In elementary school my favorite sport was hockey because it was fast paced.
In 2002 I rooted for the Korean team even more than the US team because as the Korean team got close to the semi-finals the whole country went wild. I really enjoyed watching the spectators.
ah yes fun times :)
bars and motels had amazing business for like a few weeks.
too bad i was underage back then.
