CHAPTER 10: WAR (PT 3/3)

[Ted Thomas is backstage and being congratulated by Joe Cooper and Doug E Stone of Team Beer. VIP member Sin can also be seen in the background.]

JC: You got it! You are in the Lethal Lotto.

Ted: Thanks.

Doug E: Dude, this is huge, you could be a future OCW Champion. You could be in the main events dude.

JC: Not to mention those big pay days.

Doug E: Big pay days dude.

[Ted shakes his head.]

JC: Big pay days means…

JC & Doug E: BIG PARTIES!!

Ted: Alright, I get it. I just wanted a good shot at Konway or any of those Blood Angel guys.

JC: Yeah, sorry about Mugen.

Doug E: Yeah, the med team is pretty good here. So he’s in good hands.

Ted: You guys seen Black Mask? I could have sworn that…what?

[Ted turns around to see BLACK MASK right next to him!]

Mask: Ted, I wish I could have helped.

Ted: They lit him on fire! He is being treated for serious burns and who knows what else. I thought you were all about standing up against these guys. I was hoping you would show up like you’ve done before. I thought you wanted to be a hero.

[Black Mask just stares at Ted]

Mask: I wish I could have helped, but I’m only one man. You could have saved him, but you ran away instead. I want to be the symbol for people to stand up against adversity, who doesn’t?

[Ted shakes his head]

Ted: You still weren’t there and don’t blame me.

Mask: Not blaming you, I’m saying that I can’t save you guys every time you guys fail.

[Ted looks down while in deep thought.]

Take a good look at the Body Brothers

[Black Mask points over to the Body Brothers in the background, flexing for Jackie and Marie.]

If someone told them that they weren’t the most built guys in the Tag Team roster, would they just let it slide? No, they would stand up and prove them wrong. That’s what you and everyone else need to do; otherwise, Damien and his buddies win again. I have a match to get ready for, but I’d find Kristy if you really want to get back at them.

[Cheers can be heard as Black Mask walks away.]

JC: That dude knows his stuff.

[Ted looks sad and just walks away. Back at ringside, Lance is now in the middle of the ring.]

Lance: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our Main Event!

[Cheers]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): I take it nobody found those rings.

[The lights dim slowly to black as a red carpet rolls itself toward the ring. Spotlights circle around the arena while many cheers can be heard. Those same spotlights suddenly turn green while the band starts a song with a drum solo.]

TAS Lead Singer: We are dedicating this song to OCW’s greatest legend.

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Greatest legend?

TAS Lead Singer: He is the single most well-trained, accomplished and best looking person on the OCW roster. I blush just thinking about him and am so jealous of his fiancé Kat.

Julius (OFF SCREEN): No way.

TAS Lead Singer: He has a number of movies coming out, so watch everything he even touches. This man has the Midas touch that extends to more than just his title belt. He is the OCW Champion, he is Genuin!!

[A mix of cheers and boos are heard as Genuin emerges from the back in full fighting gear and the OCW Title belt strapped around his waist. Genuin walks right over to the band and gives each of the girls a hug.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Genuin is engaged to the daughter of HXW’s chairperson, but that has nothing to do with this match.

[Genuin is now walking to the ring, stops and throws a few 5-hit punch-and-kick style combos into the air.]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): So no intro by Lance? Sorry Lance.

[Genuin hops onto the apron and gets a mic. He then signals for the music to stop and it does stop.]

Genuin: Ladies, that was beautiful. Now, onto a quick bit of business before I take care of a couple of wannabes, I set up a simple challenge to decide my main event. There was no metaphor or trick, I had two rings that I took off my own finger, which I had hidden backstage. Has anyone found them?

[Genuin leans against the ropes as he waits a few moments.]

I had personnel check the spots right before I left for the ring, somebody has them. Is it those Blood Angel guys that totally aren’t going to be sued for lighting a man on fire in front of everyone? Is it those VIP guys or even the bodybuilders?

[Genuin waits longer.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Who is it?

LSD (OFF SCREEN): I don’t know, but they’re holding up the show.

Genuin: People, if they won’t show up, I’m afraid you’re only getting one main event tonight.

[Thunder is heard and the fans scream and chant “Sully”]

Sully Sphinx isn’t going to wait and neither am I. If those two are too scared to show up

[Thunder is heard again and soon the band plays the beginning of a guitar solo.]

Lyrics:

The pretenders don’t lie
Sphinx will never die.

[A flash of lightning hits the entrance ramp and everyone stands up to cheer while the band goes into full performance. Sully emerges from the back and heads right down to the ring.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Here we go!!

Lyrics: (Chorus)
He’s the man-called-Sphinx!!
The man-called-Sphinx!!

Lance: Coming down to the ring, SULLY SPHINX!!

Lyrics:

You can beat him ‘til death,
He’ll just come back.

(Chorus)

[Genuin doesn’t look too impressed while Sully circles around the ring to touch everyone in the front row.]

Sully: PARTY AFTER THE SHOW!!

[More cheers are heard and Sully slides under the ropes and into the ring to greet Genuin.]

Genuin: Cut it!

[The music stops and booing can be heard. Sully takes a mic out of his pocket.]

Sully: Hi champ, like my new song? I thought you had your own custom thing going on too, my bad.

Genuin: Forget it; I want to let you know that I didn’t want you as my partner tonight.

[Sully nods]

Also, I had a full plan going on to set up the main event. I guess the guys in the back don’t like my ideas.

Sully: Or you’re just too good at hiding stuff.

Genuin: Thank you. Maybe if you spent more time working and less time playing, you could be in my spot.

Sully: Lethal Lotto Genuin, we are fighting for that belt.

[Cheers all around]

Genuin: Yeah, these people are going to love seeing you fail. I know I’ll enjoy it when you go down for the one

[Sully holds up one middle finger.]

[Sully hold up another middle finger and more cheers are heard while Genuin is staring blankly at Sully.]

What the hell is that?

Sully: Normally this sign means a little saying call F

Genuin: Not that! Where did you get those?

[Genuin points to THE RINGS ON SULLY’S MIDDLE FINGERS!!]

Sully: Let me think, I definitely didn’t get engaged again and I only got a toy in my box of cracker jacks. Must have been when I checked the security tapes and found them. I saw the sign and figured it was pretty easy to do that instead of searching around. I mean, I’m not stupid, checking the security cameras should have been the first thought on anyone’s mind.

Genuin: ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!

[Sully smiles wide.]

Sully: Only one way to find out.

[Sully looks over to General Manager Fox.]

Fox! Does this mean I have two free passes to Lethal Lotto now?

[More cheers can be heard as the camera focuses on Fox. Fox clenches her teeth and GIVES A THUMBS UP!! Big cheer from the fans! The camera goes back to the ring and Genuin looks pissed!]

Julius (OFF SCREEN): Damn, so I guess this is the only main event after all.

Billy (OFF SCREEN): This isn’t what our champion wanted and we can see it all over his face.

[Genuin rolls out of the ring while the fans still chant “Sully”. Another guitar solo plays and Marvin Keith emerges from the back.]

Lance: Their opponents, the team of MARVIN KEITH & THE BLACK MASK!!

[Genuin turns around and FACE OF THE FACELESS (Leaping Reverse STO) OUT OF NOWHERE BY THE BLACK MASK ONTO GENUIN!! The fans are cheering loud as Marvin leaps right into the ring. Camera shows Fox watching for a moment before going back to the ring.]

Julius (OFF SCREEN): Billy, what the hell just happened?

Billy (OFF SCREEN): It seems like while Genuin and Sully were talking, Marvin and Black Mask set up a sneak attack! That was brilliant!

Viewers: [Clap clap clap-clap-clap (repeat 3x)] This is awesome!

MAIN EVENT
SULLY/GENUIN vs. MARVIN KEITH/BLACK MASK

[The bell rings and legal men to start this will be Marvin and Sully. Genuin is still recovering from Black Mask’s attack and Black Mask is at his team’s corner.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Here we go and this should be a good match. These two have been friends for years and always enjoy a good sparring session.

Julius (OFF SCREEN): So no hard feelings if one beats the other senseless?

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Surprisingly no.

[Marv and Sully are about to lock up, but both stop to shake hands. Sully then goes to lock up and Marvin connects with a side thrust kick to the stomach. The air is knocked out of Sully’s own lungs while Marvin executes a swinging neck breaker that connects flawlessly.]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): Oh Sully felt that one.

[Marvin bounces off the ropes, charges toward Sully as he lies on the mat. Marvin with a running moonsault into a double-knee attack and it connects directly into Sully’s chest.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Amazing athleticism by Marvin Keith.

LSD (OFF SCREEN): You should see him break dance, it is crazy.

[Marvin bounces off the ropes again and does a mid-air cartwheel into a leg drop but SULLY DODGES IT!! Genuin is fully recovered and is now in his team’s corner. Both Marvin and Sully get to their feet and Sully rushes Marvin in the midsection toward the corner. They get to the corner and Sully connects with a couple shoulder attacks to the stomach of Marvin Keith. Sully then backs away, Marvin walks over to Sully; Sully with a wide right punch, and Marvin dodges it. INVERTED FACEBUSTER TO SULLY BY MARVIN!! Marvin goes for the pin.]

1…2…

[Sully kicks out.]

Genuin: You better not make me look bad by losing Sully!

[Marvin signals for Genuin to come in, Genuin signals that he wants to be tagged in.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Say what you want about Genuin’s character, he has too much of an ego to screw Sully over tonight. Especially after what Sully just did.

[Marvin hops to his feet while Sully slowly recovers. Marvin tags in Black Mask.]

Julius (OFF SCREEN): Alright, this is the real wild card in the match. Black Mask isn’t as proven as the others here.

Billy (OFF SCREEN): True, he is a rookie.

[Mask enters the ring while Sully gets to his feet. Both men are in a fighting stance while Genuin is demanding for Sully to tag him in. Sully looks at Genuin, then at Black Mask, then back to Genuin. Sully tags in Genuin and the OCW Champion hops right over the top rope and comes right at Mask with some high kicks. Black Mask dodges them all and finds both of them circling around the ring as Genuin is trying his best to attack and Mask to dodge.]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): Wow, how is Genuin not losing his balance?

Billy (OFF SCREEN): I was going to bring up Black Mask’s speed, but that’s true. Genuin is full of energy and show great agility, but Mask is doing the same thing.

[Genuin stops moving and taunts Black Mask by tell him to come at him. Genuin then leans toward Black Mask to allow Black Mask a “free shot” to the face of Genuin. Black Mask hesitates, backs up and comes in with a high knee. Genuin dodges it and claims that Black Mask actually missed the mark on his own. Genuin then gives Black Mask a pat on the head. Mask comes in with a punch, but Genuin counters him with a hard knee to the side. Mask buckles over a bit and Genuin follows up with some hard overhead strikes to the head followed by a STANDING ENZIGURI KICK!! The impact sounds like a loud snap and it sends Black Mask to his knees.]

Julius (OFF SCREEN): OH! Did you hear that?

[A replay is shown of Genuin’s devastating kick.]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): That’s why he’s the champion. Genuin could have knocked him out with that one.

[Genuin grabs Black Mask and sets him up for HOLLYWOOD DREAMS (Elevated double-arm DDT). Black Mask struggles to get free by dropping to one knee, but Genuin pulls him back into position. Black Mask extends his foot toward Marvin and MARVIN TAGS HIMSELF IN WITH HIS PARTNER’S FOOT!! Cheers are heard as Genuin releases Mask and now is receiving multiple punches to the head by Marvin. Genuin backs up against the ropes and Marvin connects with a knife-edge chop.]

Julius (OFF SCREEN): OH! That’s the spicy kind of stuff.

[Marvin whips Genuin to the ropes; Genuin bounces off the ropes and a leg lariat
by Marvin is dodged. Genuin comes back with an inside crescent kick that Marvin
dodges; Genuin with an inverted spin kick that Marvin dodges again.]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): Getting dizzy here.

[Marvin tries to set up for the MANGELER (T-Bone Suplex), but Genuin Counters with a wrap-around grapple to the head to setup for HOLLYWOOD DREAMS!! IT CONNECTS!! Cheers are heard as both Marvin and Genuin need time to recover.]

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Wow!

Julius (OFF SCREEN): That was some damn good work. Genuin needs to get up and take this match into his hands.

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Marv is a great fighter, but Genuin has some deadly strikes and – in the case- luck to hit that like he did.

[Genuin pushes Marvin aside and goes for the pin.]

1…2…

[KICK OUT BY MARVIN! Sully and Black Mask applaud while the many viewers clap repeatedly as if all one entity.]

Genuin: One more? No, I got one better. Come on!

[Genuin gets to his knees and takes a few deep breaths. Marvin is still down, so Genuin wakes him up with a few slaps to the face. Marvin is now awake and recovering. Genuin is now on his feet and waiting on Marvin while getting into a low, attacking position. BUZZSAW KICK BY GENUIN MISSES!! Marvin gets right up and QUEEN VICTORIA SUPLEX BY MARVIN TO GENUIN! Marvin bridges the landing to go for the pin.]

1…2…

[Genuin kicks out. Marvin gets to his knees and BUZZSAW KICK BY GENUIN!!]

LSD (OFF SCREEN): I felt that one from here!

[Genuin goes for the pin.]

1…2…3!!

[The bell rings. The band starts to play Genuin’s music.]

Lance: The winners of this match: GENUIN AND SULLY SPHINX!!

Billy (OFF SCREEN): Wow!

Julius (OFF SCREEN): Now that’s how you end a match! No cheap shots or controversy.

[Genuin sits up and the referee hands Genuin the OCW Title. Sully enters the ring as well while Black Mask comes in to help Marvin up. Sully gets a mic.]

Sully: Cut the music.

[The music cuts just like Genuin did to Sully earlier.]

Nice match champ, but I still have the two passes to Lethal Lotto. Now one is definitely going to our chairman, but this other one? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe next week?

[Genuin gets up and motions for a handshake. Sully smiles and shakes his hand only to get a hard kick in between Sully’s legs. Sully falls to his knees, clearly in pain; Genuin grabs the mic.]

Genuin: Yeah, next week. Now understand this, you just took something from me.

[BUZZSAW KICK TO SULLY’S SKULL!! Sully goes down, face first, while Genuin gets right to his feet and leaves the ring.]

Nobody does that to me. See you next week.

[Genuin begins walking to the backstage area as the screen turns to black and the show ends.]
