Bakr Eid preparation

It's that season again, when all the people in Pakistan are busy buying cattle animal for Eid. In my view Eid in Pakistan is the best back in Saudi Arabia it never felt like any adventure. Our elders would just go to the slaughter house get a token and get back the meat after distributing it to the poor all this would happen on the eve of Eid, but here the story is completely opposite.

First off the largest animal market in Asia is organized in Karachi, from where we go and buy the cattle whether a goat or a cow of our choice. The best part is the bargaining this year we got our cow for approx 600$ and the seller told us it was 1100$ at first so you have to be a good bargainer and communicate with the seller. They wabt the maximum profit they cab squeeze out. Then comes the inspection of the animal the approximate age by looking at its teeth if it has 2 larhe teeth means it is youbg and the meat will be tendee as the teeth increases the price falls. Other than that we check it by walking it around checking the hooves of the animal and what not. I've been going to the market for about 10 years and now I just gi with my friends to buy our sacrificial animal. It's like a fun activity we spend the day roaming about eating from here and ther it's fun.

We bought our cow and goats and and brought them home and now a new venture begins keeping the animal well fed, washing it and walking it in the streets. These create a lot of fun for children and ofcohrse us as well the feeling of taking care of cattle is amazing if only for a few days indeed. The city life does not let us unteract with these creatures but Eid lets us have our fun. That is why I love celebrating Eid in Pakistan.
