Where the supply is available, the cost of usage becomes high for an average person to afford, and where an average person can afford to pay for such, there is no transparency as in the correct details of usage. This is a problem that people are facing especially in the part of the world where I come from – Nigeria. So you find out that people are not ready to pay for electricity bills because of lack of transparency in the system.

Yes, there are many platforms with the promise to become a panacea to the world power challenges yet are not able to fulfill the promises especially using Blockchain technology. Eloncity is different in the sense that:
• Ecological or natural disaster has caused a great damage to power infrastructure across the globe and as a result of this, starting from the scratch to build up these infrastructure by power companies or authorities is a big deal hence the cost of usage at the end of the day does will not favour an average individual. The need for power supply is on the increase, as the population also increases, new businesses are popping up in demand for power supply, providing a lasting solution at a favourable cost of power supply and usage, Eloncity shall employ a decentralized system which will keep track of all power usage within the communities by so doing the right source of energy supply and amount will be derived.
• The challenges in the present power grid poses a great threat from safety to the general wellbeing of humanity such to include the area of health, environmental and psychological. Take for instance the California incident of October 23, 2015. The leakage of the underground natural gas storage located in Aliso Canyon in Los Angeles. The leakage was so deadly that the Governor: Jerry Brown had to declare a state of emergency on the 6th day of January, 2016. These leakages created a devastating environmental hazard and eventually cause serious health disaster even up to the children who experienced nosebleeds and from record about 50 children on a daily basis were attended to by the nurses. This prompted a relocation of about eleven thousand people.
• On the 8th day September 2011, California also suffered power grid failure that caused a total black out for about seven million people. It is pertinent to note that a failure at a single point of power grid can cause so many problems in power supply and ultimately to people.
