Selling England By The Pound

Selling England By The Pound this record of 1973 is definitely considered by many the musical masterpiece of the Genesis, but not only for the group, for lovers of rock and above all for the fans of the progressive category.
50 and minutes of great workmanship, a milestone, we are talking about musical history.
The disc opens with Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, just a few moments is already we can appreciate the skills and the unmistakable voice of Peter Gabriel, histrionic character that certainly has greatly influenced the landscape Rock Prog with his costumes and make-up style, I remember that when I bought it from the first few seconds I realized that his purchase was not a disappointment.
Follows I know what i like, maybe the song I like less, a simple refrain from the vague style of song.
What follows is definitely in my opinion the most beautiful song of the whole album Firth of fifth, back on high levels, I highly recommend listening carefully to the piano part of Tony Banks, the solo in the central part it is beautiful, even today, after many years, it manages to make me shiver, the classic style mixed with progressive sounds makes it unique.
The fourth song More fool me sees the voice Phil Collins, certainly not now is discovered how good he was vocally as well as being a great percussionist, even here I recommend listening to some piece of the live record Seconds Out where he and Chester Tompson on drums are great, after Made in Japan from Deep Purple I think Seconds Out is the second live album for me.
The Battle Of Epping Forest highlights the vocal qualities of Gabriel, in this record perhaps reaches its peak, where even theatricality is the master.
The sixth piece After The Ordeal is an instrumental in the classic style of the best Prog, a very beautiful piece that also deserves careful listening.
The following piece is another gem of the disc The Cinema Show, in the song we can enjoy magical solos, the song narrates the mythological figure of Taresius, a man who became a woman and finding under this new guise a best pleasure in the sexual field, in my opinion The Cinema Show is one of the most beautiful and successful songs in their long career.
The Closing of the disk is up to Aisle of Plenty which is nothing more than a resume from Dancing with the moonlit knight, nice guitar part and the voice of Gabriel.
