How much labor and material needs for roof construction work?

in #engineering7 years ago (edited)
Greetings, how are you steemit friends? Hopefully still the spirit. We have previously discussed the need for working and building materials of foundations of rock mounts, reinforced concrete slabs, brick walls, reinforced concrete floor plates, paint work and floor work.

Today we will again discuss or calculate labor and material needs on wooden roof construction work.

The use of wood as a roofing construction is very common in Indonesia, since there are still many forests in Indonesia to make abundant wood resources. The use of wood as a roof construction has long been done by humans, since humans began to need and build shelter to this day.

Nowadays more and more choice of roof material that makes us more easy to determine choice according to requirement and model that we want, because each roof construction material has advantages and disadvantages for each type.

The roof structure has several types of materials between them:

  1. Wooden roof structure.
  2. Structure of concrete roof / reinforced concrete.
  3. The roof structure of the masonry.
  4. Structure of heavy steel roof.
  5. Lightweight steel roof structure.

The roof is part of the building that serves to cover / protect the room under it, while the wood is a source of natural wealth derived from plants / trees and can be easily processed as needed.

After we have a little about the roof construction and its function then we will make an example of calculation of labor requirements and material roof work in accordance with the picture below.

CALCULATION OF VOLUME

We will calculate the volume of wooden roof construction by adding up the whole unit so that we can obtain the total volume.

a. Is known :

ItemsInformation
B1(4.55 x 0.06 x 0.12) x 20.066
B2(0.94 x 0.05 x 0.10) x 20.009
B4(2.55 x 0.05 x 0.10) x 20.026
B5(3.39 x 0.05 x 0.10) x 20.034
B61.35 x 0.06 x 0.120.010
AmountB1 + B2 + B4 + B5 + B60.144
Multiplied by the amount of roof construction3,000 X 0.1440.432 m3 (I)

b. Is known :

ItemsInformation
B3(8.00 x 0.05 x 0.07) x 60.168
B78.00 x 0.05 x 0.070.028
AmountB3 + B70.196 m3 (II)

Thus we have completed the calculation of the total volume of roof construction as the picture, with the volume of 0.443 m3 and 0.196 m3.

CALCULATION OF LABOR AND MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS

I use technical analysis in accordance with Indonesian National Standard, in this calculation we will use wood class I.

The meaning of class I wood is the grouping of wood species that meet the criteria such as durability, strength and usability with quality I.

  1. To work on 1m3 of roof construction using class I wood is required.
ItemsInformation
Workers4,000 Person Per Day
Carpenter12,000 Person Per Day
Foreman1,200 Person Per Day
Overseer0.200 Person Per Day
Class I Wood1,100 m3
Iron Strip 5 mm thick15,000 Kg
Nails 12 cm5,600 Kg

In accordance with the coefficient of technical analysis, the completion of roof construction work with a volume of 0.443 m3 required.

ItemsInformationAmount
Workers4,000 Person Per Day x 0.443 m31,728 Person
Carpenter12,000 PersonPer Day x 0.443 m35.185 Person
Foreman1,200 Person Per Day x 0.443 m30,519 Person
Overseer0.200 Person Per Day x 0.443 m30.086 Person
Class I Wood1,100 m3 x 0.443 m30.475 m3
Iron Strip 5 mm thick15,000 Kg x 0.443 m36,482 Kg
Nails 12 cm5,600 Kg x 0.443 m32,420 Kg

  1. To complete the work of 1m3 Beam roof construction using wood class I required.
ItemsInformation
Workers6,700 Person Per Day
Carpenter20,100 Person Per Day
Foreman2,010 Person Per Day
Overseer0.335 Person Per Day
Class I Wood1,100 m3
Iron Strip 5 mm thick15,000 Kg
Nails 12 cm3,000 Kg

In accordance with the coefficient of technical analysis, completing the roof construction beam work with a volume of 0.196 m3 is required.

ItemsInformationAmount
Workers6,700 Person Per Day x 0.196 m31,313 Person
Carpenter20,100 Person Per Day x 0.196 m33,940 Person
Foreman2,010 Person Per Day x 0.196 m30.396 Person
Overseer0.335 Person Per Day x 0.196 m30.066 Person
Class I Wood1,100 m3 x 0.196 m30.216 m3

CONCLUSION

To complete roof construction work with a volume of 0.443 m3 and roof construction beam with a volume of 0.196 m3 is required.

ItemsAmount
Workers3,042 Person
Carpenter9,125 Person
Foreman0.913 Person
Overseer0.152 Person
Class I Wood0.691 m3
Iron Strip 5 mm thick9,422 Kg
Nails 12 cm3,008 Kg

My calculations are in accordance with standard technical analysis of Indonesia National Standard, this calculation is only an example and can be used by anyone.

With the development of science expected young engineers can continue to explore the knowledge that can be applied for the creation of a better civilization.

Hopefully this example calculation can be useful.

Thanks to friends who have visited my blog and to scientists have sacrificed time to advance our mindset and increase our knowledge.

This is all I can write on this occasion, for all the mistakes and lack of writing as a servant of God, I apologize.
