I think that the less informed have a more negative attitude... while those that are on the leading edge understand the value! I also think that is across the board in everything that is being done. A great example of that was discussed on my show with @brian-rhodes regarding the Film Industry. STEEM has the potential to bring in niche groups and do proof of concept work they would have never been able to achieve previously. How easy in the past was it to simply set up a blog website that did not cost you anything to maintain or run? That is just a single example of where this has taken us! You still might have the other system but, now you can share that same blog post to another million potential viewers that may have never seen it! :)
