World Environment Day (WED)
I brought you an earlier post of me in Benin yesterday and my visit to an art studio. Another thing I did in Benin was to attend the 2018 World Environment Day (WED). It was held in Imaguero Girls' College Hall, Sapale Road, Benin City.
I was at the venue before the program started, and the interactive, questions and answers section swiftly became an interesting gathering to be a part of.
The venue was hosted by the Commissioner of Environment and Sustainability
With the theme Beat Plastic Pollution, Mr Mike Omoigberale gave a lecture on Plastic and Contemporary Challenges: needs for Alternative and Mr Ola Oresanya did on Effective Waste Management System in Nigeria. Alternative to plastics that have been created is called BIO-PLASTIC or SHRILK. This bio-plastic is made from shrimp shells and silk protein. It is a fully degradable.
I hope everyone gets involved to beat plastic
Enjoy a clean environment
