[EOSBits AND Beyondbits Inside!] Support the Open Source Meetup Toolkit | Stage 1: Aggregate Meetup Masters |

in #eos-meetups6 years ago (edited)

Do you have Experience running Meetups?

Community is at the Heart of every movement...

But to form a scalable community, one must first focus on the tools available to those who wish to help and empower others through community initiatives. For instance, creating a meetup is not technically technically difficult. However, People have difficulty figuring out how to start and what resources they have available to make the journey easier. This is not usually out of an issue of money, but rather is due to a large amount of work that goes into coordinating such initiatives.

Yes. These doers may have the initiative, but often are lacking in basic resources from which to draw. For instance, a simple template for an effective meetup or artwork and guides all wrapped up into one place could offer an exponential return of value for what was put into its construction. The reason why is simple to be honest as it could give anyone who desires to run EOS Meetups a "Power UP" that helps to tear down the barriers of a small or one-person team running these meetups.

So EOSBits are Sponsoring the Open Source Meetups Toolkit

Open Source Meetups Breakdown

As with most things, this initiative must be completed in stages:

Stage 1 - Aggregate Meetup Masters (<--- You are Here)
Stage 2 - Aggregate Newbie-Friendly Educational Infographics/SlideShows/Videos/VLogs
Stage 3 - Collectively Construct Meetup Templates
Stage 4 - Monthly Meetup Challenges

Participating any of these Stages will Earn you EOSBits and Beyonbits!

Instructions:

Start an EOS Meetup in your area

It is very important to us that we help continue to build an environment where people of all expertise can come together through shared interests in the EOS.IO software and what it can do.

Starting a Meetup is a great way to tailor the discussion to your community’s needs, while getting the chance to meet people with the same interests face to face. If you’d like to create an EOS Meetup in your community, there are a few simple steps you can take to get involved:

  • Name your Meetup group. Keep it simple so people can find your group when they search (example: EOS London). You’ll also need to fill out a description of your Meetup Group.
  • Invite people to join and create Meetup events within your group on desired topics.

- Email block.one team ([email protected]) and CC [email protected]

What is an EOSBIT?

An EOSBIT is a Bandwidth token. A Bandwidth token is a token/ticket backed by a % of bandwidth owned in the EOS network. Since this token will be backed by a specificied amount of bandwidth in the EOS ecosystem (100,000 EOS), it will be possible to gain acceptance of these tokens in place of payment to use Beyond Bitcoin Partner Decentralized Apps (DApps). As bandwidth is a limited resource, these tokens will be worth a specified amount of bandwidth soon after the release of the live EOS Chain Launch.

These tokens are intended to gain value based on a market for bandwidth and partner DApps' accepting them as payment for services/perks. We live in a world where bandwidth on networks is accepted as a ubitquitous resource. EOS is the next stage of Blockchain-basesed IOT infrastructure and will solidify the value proposition of "Bandwidth Tokens" as we begin truly building Voltron partnerships...

Why sell bandwidth directly when you can empower creators to make EOS more valuable?!

What are Beyondbits and Whaleshares?

Beyondbits and Whaleshares started as a conversations in the BeyondBitcoin hangout series shortly after Steem was launched historically in those very hangouts. It began as "community tokens" or "tag coins" for those who never knew to listen in who may wish to listen to the origins in our BeyondBitcoin Hangout podcast series. Drop in and listen to them sometime!

These tokens give their hodlers the power to Summon a Whalevote to posts without having to pay for attention. And they are only given to people who Win Contests and do other things of value to the community!
These little hidden gems are held safely just for you. Waiting for the moment when you prove yourself in the arena of contests and hangouts like the whaletank...so if you haven't yet, you should follow @officialfuzzy and watch out for his new contests, or join the Whaleshares Discord where there are a community of Beyondbit Experts!

As a Bonus to all participants, I will be Giving Beyonbit tokens to all participants who give a legitimate effort!

All tokens are on BitShares! So make sure you have a BitShares Wallet to receive and use them!

This looks awesome. I will definitely try and set something up this weekend (I wont have time before then). The difficulty is that i live in a pretty rural location and I have no idea if anyone interested lives remotely near me! Only one way to find out I suppose.

I love the term "bandwidth" token

awesome information, thanks for you. :)

Hi, nice initiative. Do you know the subscription cost for meetup.com ?

I am not against you using other platforms but i need to see links to the meetup :)
Last i checked meetup was like 10 bucks a month but u couod charge people to join the meetup in order to pay for it

Yes, i'm trying to arrange something, meetup.com doesn't accept cryptocurrency! 6mth subscription is around $50 USD like most ecommerce sites payable in only fiat CC. Shame they don't even take an upfront 6-12 mth payment by cryptocurrency.

you know man...i run into this so often its insane. so few places accept crypto and bitcoin is already at 11k (more if you include the forks).

SO think about that... lol

@officalfuzzy sounds like a good place to make a Dapp to accept crypto and do a meetup function. I can see EOS being a perfect place to build this. kind of a chicken and the egg thing at this point we have to use the old system, but you know as the head of a meetup about crypto you can just use your own wallet and ask for donations people can all point at the screen and bam we eat our own dog food.

Dog food! I want oranges!

Yeah, I know the price of bitcoin. What i didn't know was the price of a subscription on meetup
com. and accepted payment methods I had to signup to the site to find that out. Maybe this info could be include in the toolkit.

Someone was saying it was like 50 dollars a year. But people who run meetups can make money if done right.

I think the point is not so much about the money more the "tourist trap" kind of way meetup.com operates.

Adding a note after the bullets on joining and creating a meetup, is my suggestion.

Join https://www.meetup.com and fill in the necessary details about yourself and your interests.
Click Create a Meetup and choose your location.*

*Note: Its free to join but there is a mthly fiat subscription fee to create a meetup.

You might also want to add that you're not against people using other platforms but that you need to see links to the meetup.

Hope this helps, good luck.

great idea! I will make meet up soon

this is a great thinks. meetup is very necessary think in human bring.

Yes and people can actually earn from it too :)

this coin is same as eos ?

It is backed by eos bandwidth :]

this is a great idea. meetup is very important think in human bring.

100%. That is why people can earn rewards for it :)

thank you so much, to answer me, if I get your cooperation, I can reach a much better place than steemit, can I help with a little bit of voting?

Im unsure whar u are wanting to do. Please join the eostalk telegram or discord amd seek me out via pm?

How do you please? I will be benefited a lot.

You have to join eostalk and you can easily join our discord right there :)

i'm very interested of course. please reach out to me on discord. :)
