In his recent podcast interesting with a difference talks to a eos authority member about the development

Key take aways:

  • rex might be live within 4 weeks
  • Can be implemented without referendum (only for ram.fees and name.fees)
  • tokens need to be staked for rex full 28 days, otherwise all rewards are lost.
  • tokens aren't sent anywhere, and tentative staked for additional security.

REX will bring one important piece of infrastructure.
