EOS Launch Delayed While Block Producers Discuss How to Launch

in #eos6 years ago

Where's EOS?? It seems that there are many issues still and everyone is trying to figure out how to launch.

On their GitHub page, EOS indicated that there were over 600 bugs that were needing to be fixed. It seems issues now are about how to fix and launch the prototype since we're passed the launch date. Currently though, it seems they are stuck in a lot of disagreements. They've announced that meetings will be held every 12 hours until the launch is finalized.

After raising billions in their year-long ICO, you'd think there would have been enough money to ensure that their product could have been able to be developed and launched for prototype as expected. Now, are we expecting this to go as planned? Can they launch? If they do, what will be the outcome? Is it going to be everything they claimed to deliver? I'm sure everyone is asking these same questions, so we will be looking for answers from their semi-daily meetings.

There are some great articles talking about the delayed launch HERE and HERE

I look forward to chain being released and being secure. Better safe than sorry. I think this chain will have a ton of great options.

It's a great project if they deliver on everything they claim!

sorry, but I have to point out a few faults in both your article and the ones you link to.

There is no issue with launching the chain, what they first did was validating and finding bugs. When that was done a 3rd party is auditing the code. The first "no-go" signals was because the validating was not done. Now it´s because the auditing wasn't done.

The disagreements come mainly from people not understanding the seriousness they are in. They are all working together to launch one main chain, and it's not multiple chains being launched from the BP's.

There's one chain being launched, and it's likely it will be launched tomorrow.

The testnets have already reached about 1500 tps, so the system works.

Thanks for the info. Yea, it was my understanding there wasn't even going to be a core EOS chain.

BPs said, up to the last call there was no critical bug found, its clear of course, that in software, there will always be bugs, so better they find those soon. And in the end, what is a week of testing the Mainnet, it's not about a protoype anymore, but a full scale blockchain, featuring a lot of adaptions from testnets, that just havent been testable before.

When's it coming out?

Tomorrow.....
... maybe ;-)
