We are "HelloMedia". Nice to meet you!

HelloMedia is a media platform under HelloEOS, an EOS block producer. Devoting to become a media deep in serving the EOS ecosystem participants, we will continue to interview those outstanding teams in EOS ecosystem, including BPs, DApp developers, investors, eco-platforms and media. Also, we provide a multimedia platform for those excellent EOS eco builders who contribute to the developing the EOS ecosystem to showcase themselves in video and text.

The first team we would like to introduce is Cypherglass, a BP team from the United States that is diverse, honest, and willing to share.

For the sake of Chinese speaker, we provide the Chinese Translation: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MzU5MzQ5MDk5MA==&mid=2247484130&idx=1&sn=ccf7d2333825d00c20433b053c23cd80&chksm=fe0ee7a3c9796eb5f2b5dad143145dea3548e3ff4d4b47ac0e9c9f3726a54e3b2516cd8d3dfd&scene=38#wechat_redirect

  • Please tell us about your team and why are you optimistic about EOS? Like why are you intend to be an BP from the beginning?

Since its inception we have believed that EOS is the next evolution for decentralized apps and blockchain. It's exciting to see so many people from all corners of the world working together to launch a blockchain. Dan Larimer's work proceeds him, with the success of Bitshares and Steemit we witnessed a first and second generation blockchain. EOS is bringing about a third generation, and we are confident EOS will solve the usability issues we see in blockchain's today.

As the founder of ICO Alert, Rob Finch our CEO has seen and analyzed thousands of ICOs. Being already familiar with Dan Larimer's work, he was excited early on about the opportunity to become a Block producer for EOS. He immediately started assembling what he calls the "dream team" of people he knew were of good character, had complementary skills, and possessed a passion for building great things.

Being a Block Producer means you are willing to step up and take action, listen to the community and represent the EOS network. All things we are excited and qualified to do based on our combined experience as a team.

  • Your team did a lot work for the EOS ecosystem, such as, $100k Bounty, Cypherglass Help, Windshield, Glass and Lens. Could you introduce their features and functions to the Chinese community?

https://steemit.com/eos/@cypherglass/usd100k-eos-hardware-wallet-bounty
The $100K bounty is intended to provide a hardware wallet for EOS. Many token holders have asked for one, and we believe a hardware wallet is necessary for EOS to compete with and surpass other cryptocurrencies. One of the bounty hunter teams is getting close to a solution for Ledger, so stay tuned we are hoping to announce something soon.

As with our other tools, Cypherglass Help was developed based on a need that token holders communicated to us. The crypto world is hard to navigate, and our Cypherglass Help repository of information has been well received. Often when we are asked questions, we are able to direct people to a specific link within Help that already has a detailed answer.

https://github.com/cypherglassdotcom/windshield
Windshield is a tool to monitor Block Producer infrastructure internally. It sends alerts via console, email, SMS and Slack. It was a tool that we started designing for our own use, and then realized it could help other Block Producers and thus the EOS community as a whole. Why keep something to ourselves when we can share and make EOS stronger? No IT infrastructure can be maintained without proper monitoring tools, and Windshield is the best and only tool out there designed specifically for monitoring EOS Block Producer nodes.

https://glass.cypherglass.com
We just released Cypherglass Glass, which has been an amazingly well received tool for the EOS community, and we are only in the first phase of its development. There is simply no other tool that lets you view Block Producer information as easily and accurately as Glass. Most importantly, community members have come to us with heartfelt thanks for the transparency that Glass provides. Secondarily, many Block Producers have thanked us for the enabling them to see errors in the information they are required to provide. It's been a true win win for the community.

We are confident that Cypherglass Lens is the safest, most secure voting tool available. We spent many development hours ensuring that, whether using the application or browser version, nobody's private key can be compromised. Not only that our interface is very simple and user friendly.

  • Which one you are the most proud of ? Why?

It is hard to pick just one, when each tool has created so much positive community feedback. We pride ourselves in putting the community first, and believe that Cypherglass Glass reaches the most members. We announced Glass very early on, well before the mainnet launch…

https://steemit.com/eos/@cypherglass/introducing-glass-a-tool-to-protect-the-eos-network-from-corruption-and-collusion … and it achieves what is core to our Cyhperglass values, transparency. We are really looking forward to continually expanding Glass as a living, de-facto tool for the community.

  • We would like to know your first impression to the group of Chinese BPs. And what do you think about the Chinese BPs?

We have been awed by how the Chinese crypto community has embraced EOS, and as a Block Producer it has been an honor to work side by side with the Chinese BPs. Participating in the mainnet launch together was an amazing experience, and it's impressive how many more Chinese BPs have come online since. The Chinese BPs were integral in ensuring that the mainnet was launched globally as one network, and have been vocal and have publically participated in EOS community conversations. We enjoy working with them in the Mainnet BPs Telegram channel as well as the KeyBase channels. We are glad the Chinese BPs have gradually become more vocal on the EOS Block Producer weekly calls. It might be a good idea to have a designated translator on those calls so that we could get even more communication between western and Chinese BPs.

Lately we have partnered with Suzhou Blockchain Community to help improve our ties with the Asian community and have engaged a translation service to provide all of our documentation and tools for the Chinese community.

  • In the EOS ecosystem, besides producing blocks, what role do you think the BPs should play in the EOS ecosystem and the key of to play the role? And what are you doing now for the EOS ecosystem?

Block Producers should play the role of executors, and the orders should come from the community. Just like all EOS community members, Block Producers should weigh in on important governance topics when asked. Block Producers should be actively participating in conversations with the community, as they are in the driver's seat.
Currently we are creating educational content to help create excitement and brand awareness around the EOS network. We continue to build EOS community tools, like LENS, GLASS, and WINDSHIELD to help promote a healthy EOS network. We continue to engage with other block producers to a discuss and approve mainnet updates. Cypherglass is quick to support another producers with a snapshot backup or NodeOS assistance. We are considered infrastructure experts among the BP community and often consulted regarding VPNs, load balancers, networking, storage and node design. Our philosophy of transparency extends to other block producers and the community as whole. What's good for EOS is good for us.

  • In technology, in which points do you think you are distinguished from other BPs?

At the time of this writing, we are currently the only top 21 block producer that has nodes located in the United States.

https://glass.cypherglass.com/map/bp/abp
We have invested significant time and money into our stand-alone Block Producer infrastructure. We built a robust physical infrastructure that is completely designed and managed by Cypherglass engineers. Our primary site in Kansas City at the KC2 data center hosts our producer nodes, API nodes, full nodes, proxy nodes, and public nodes. Our secondary site in Minnesota hosts an additional public node and hot backup nodes that are ready to come online in case of an outage at our primary site. When you look at any block producer monitor, you will see that all the Cypherglass nodes are always up. We are proud of our infrastructure and the people who support it.

https://steemit.com/eos/@cypherglass/eos-vs-public-cloud
Our technical team brings decades of enterprise environment experience at Intel, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and CenturyLink, just to name a few. Being a Block Producer means maintaining a 24/7 environment and we have experience doing just that.

The tools we have created for the community also distinguish us. Not only are they designed to fill community needs, our homogeneous look and feel have created an excellent, consistent user experience. Our tools have a professional look and feel that come from expert coders that value UX. At Cypherglass we believe that a strong EOS and a strong community is more important than trying use our tools to just help ourselves. Therefor all of our software is open source and shared with the whole community.

  • WPS (Worker Proposal System) is a quite controversial topic and recently triggered a lot of discussion. What do you think of WPS?

Before we can access and decide on how the funds of the Worker Proposal System should be distributed, we need on-chain communication. It's important to know where each piece of governing communication comes from, so we can verify the validity. With that assurance in place we can begin to decide as a community where the money should be spent, and what issues are prioritized through a vote.

  • Will you talk about your plan in the next phase?

Cypherglass is ready to help the EOS community grow. Dapps are the future and we are excited to begin hosting community events that give EOS projects more exposure and brand awareness.
We have begun the design and planning for phase three of our Cypherglass infrastructure. Based in the United States, we believe it will make EOS even stronger from a decentralization, disaster recovery and business continuity perspective.
We look forward to participating in more important governance conversations and continuing to provide the best infrastructure we can to insure the health of the EOS network.

Work has begun on phase two of Glass. Phase two will enable block producers to provide additional voluntary information so that token holders have an even more detailed view of each BP.

  • Please list one of the most memorable things for you and your team and describe the scene at that time.

Being elected into the incumbent Top 21 as the EOS chain unlocked was an amazing moment for all of us. Rob was on a podcast at the time, and our team celebrated together on several phone calls and slack messages from across the US. It was as wonderful reward for thousands of hours of work.

  • Finally, do you want to say anything to the Chinese community? In other words, could you give us a reason to vote for Cypherglass?

At the time of this writing, we are the only top 21 block producer in the United States. Our headquarters is located in the United States, as are all of our nodes. Geographic decentralization is one of the keys to driving token holder confidence in EOS.

Our infrastructure also provides decentralization. We are not sitting in the Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Clouds as many block producers are. Our gear is owned and run by Cypherglass free from large, centralized company influence.

Our engagement with the EOS community is well proven and established. Our videos, tools, channel presence, and deep knowledge enable Cypherglass to understand and communicate with the EOS community both individually and collectively.
