EOS crashes two days after the start

in #eos6 years ago

Less than 48 hours after the EOS Mainnet went live, it is jammed in several messages on Twitter and a post on Steemit from the top 21 EOS Block Producers (BPs).

EOS tries to find out what is going on and to solve the problem. It seems that all transactions on the mainnet are 'frozen' and the cause is unclear.

Multiple BPs are displayed as 'red' which means that their application programming interfaces (APIs) do not respond. One of the possible reasons is a DDoS attack, according to EOSUK, who writes on Twitter: "A lot of 'red' on the EOS network monitor. The EOS Mainnet crashes. "

The top 21 Block Producers and Standby Nodes wrote a little later on Steemit that they 'have found a way to get the chain up and running again.' The network would have to function normally again three to six hours after their post.

EOS is currently the largest ICO ever. The platform has raised about 4 billion dollars. It wants to compete with Ethereum as a platform for decentralized applications (DApps).

The markets have reacted mildly to the news. The price of EOS dropped by only three percent in the last 24 hours.
