EOS - DAPP Radar

in #eos6 years ago (edited)

I've taken somewhat of a step back from paying attention to EOS in the past few months. The hangover from the launch drama, which was painfully hard to watch, and dip in price to $5 have both probably contributed to my lack of enthusiasm.

This morning however I did take a look at DAPP Radar to see how things are coming along. They list and track the usage of all of the top EOS DAPPs (ETH and other chains too) by tracking individual wallet interaction with the DAPP and chain. Its interesting to see what is becoming of this project.

Gambling, Games and Crypto-Exchanges seem to be dominating the current real-world use cases currently operating on the EOS blockchain. Not exactly mainstream and probably not the most desired use cases for the long term heath and growth potential of such a powerful blockchain and its hard for me to put my finger on where it goes from here.

For me, the holy grail of profit potential is when you start getting Fortune 100 companies building DAPPs on a blockchain for adoption by the masses. Is a company like Bank of America, General Motors or Salesforce.com likely to build their DAPP on a chain dominated by gambling DAPPS and video games. Probably not.

Bank of America, General Motors won't be building on a public block chain....they will be building on private block chains. Big difference!
It would be educational if you became familiar with the difference and share that with your readers.

Hi, yeah its a bit chilling to see gambling apparently to be the most established use case on EOS now. The good news about this, those simple dapps prove, that microtransactions work sucessfully. More complex dapps will follow, but those take time.

Yep, its good there are plenty of proof cases....still want to see more mainstream DAPPs

One of the reason of many gambling/ play game dapps on EOS is the lightning speed of transactions. How can you land such Dapp on ETH?!?

dApp radar is a really useful site. Gives a good indication about the lack of usage of ethereum apps. Take a look at Augur usage with is a top 100 crypto. It bviously shouldn't be there.
