First fun smart contract running on main blockchain.

No Cryptokitties but monsters on EOS.

Yeah cool, but how about that ddos?

While watching the transactions on the EOS blockchain I did mostly notice a SPAM memo transaction. An account trying to get attention by using the word ddos as an action description. But I do not believe it will get many votes for becoming a block producer. There is not much EOS in that account, so it can SPAM only for the time being. Because when the blockchain activity goes up, the price for using resources will go up. The Steem blockchain will also get such a kind of resource (ab)use limiter with HardFork 20, called Resource Credits {RC}.

EOS already did a maximum of 76 transactions per second {TPS}, but is currently at 1 TPS mostly. Many announced applications still have to launch. And it looks like most will take their time to do so. The main blockchain already had its first bug encounter that kicked in the safety protocol. Of course critics and sceptics were ready to ridicule this event where the EOS blockchain was paused for the time the patch was released. But it proved itself to work the way it was supposed to.

A monster pet was created.

Watching the transactions flow through became quite boring, until I noticed some entries by an account called monstereosio. With actions like createpet and awakepet it looked to me like there was a cryptokitty kind of smart contract already running on EOS. After some searching I found out that it was a project at Github called MonsterEOS by developer Leo Reinero. Basically it is the rebirth of the classic Tamagotchi Game on the EOS blockchain.

Where I was expecting Crypto Puppies to be one of the first fun apps to be build on EOS.io this one could actually take off really well. Currently it is basicly able to do a few actions like creating, awaking / sleeping and feeding, but that could be extended soon. And I do not know if you are familiar with an old computer game called Creatures but I could see that one's rebirth comming on the EOS blockchain.

Smart contracts updated.

One thing that is possible with a Blockchain Operating Superior System {BOSS 👊😁} is that smart contracts can be updated. As it is easy to create applications in C++ and other programming languages, developers will be able to move their projects over to EOS. These smart contracts will be compiled to WASM {WebAssembler} code making it possible to run very responsive high speed programmes on the EOS blockchain.

If Crypto Puppies or Crypto Creatures were to be created for EOS it would become a realtime stresstest for it. And the fur should not lock up the EOS blockchain, but simply run besides the Social Media platform ONO and the wiki Everipedia. It will be very interesting how things will work out in the near to far future for EOS.io and I will be keeping a close eye on it. Ready to play some old-skool 8bit revival games on it, earning Fun8 Tokens for winning and/ or reaching high scores...
