Is EOS still a blockchain?steemCreated with Sketch.

The centralization of EOS has been questioned by people! The focus of the matter is this screenshot

One user complained that his account was attacked by someone else and raided his EOS private key. The EOS network chose Ben Gates as an arbitrator to solve this problem and another person named Moti Tabulo managed the entire process.

The final ruling wrote

According to the power given to me as an arbitrator under Article 6 of the Dispute Resolution Rules Ben Gates ruled that the controversial EOS account assets should be immediately returned to the claimant and the freezing of the assets of the account should be cancelled.

Tampering and modification

The transaction can be withdrawn which is obviously centralized. Is this still a blockchain?

As a public chain EOS has once again been questioned. Some even think that EOS is no longer a blockchain.

TVB can't help but think of the two content platforms of Primas and You. The articles on these two content platforms cannot be modified.

TVB expressed contempt for this feature and then suggested that the article on steem could be modified. At that time the excellent staff also questioned "Steem's article can be modified?" After receiving a positive answer from TVB the other party did not respond.

In fact the steem article is indeed modifiable.

The characteristic of blockchain is that information cannot be tampered with and cannot be modified.

Be aware that tampering and modification are two distinct concepts.

Tampering is to change information privately outside the scope permitted by the rules; and modification is to correct and change the information that is wrong.

and repair are two different probabilities.

The embarrassed person is settled in and unreasonable; the repairer has the meaning of bringing order out of chaos.

The EOS incident was precisely the return of assets obtained by hackers’ unreasonable transactions. This is exactly the first time to bring order out of chaos.

Transaction withdrawal

The withdrawal of the transaction on the blockchain does not mean that the record of the transaction was erased. On the contrary this unreasonable transaction and its withdrawal will have a record on the EOS public chain.

This is the spirit of the blockchain.

Blockchain is not tamperable but it should not be used for hackers and other illegal and unreasonable injustices.

EOS's such transaction was withdrawn and TVB believes that this is in line with the blockchain spirit and this is the progress of the blockchain.

Centralization

In the case of the transaction withdrawal EOS used the arbitration mechanism and a limited number of people voted on the matter. After the ratio was agreed the transaction could be withdrawn.

In addition there are a limited number of miners on the EOS and 21 main nodes plus about 100 alternative nodes.

Some people like this EOS is too central.

In fact the 21 main nodes of EOS are voted by all users holding EOS coins. It is not something that an individual or institution can decide.

In the previous article of TVB it was analyzed that the 21 main nodes are mutually balanced and outside these 21 nodes are the alternative nodes of the Vision. Two-thirds of these 21 nodes are not likely to come out together.

In particular the recent BCH fork has made TVB feel that the number of miners is not necessarily decentralized. There are also only six nodes on the BCH

These six nodes which are six forces most of the miners follow one of the six nodes using the mining algorithm and mine pool of the six nodes.

A single miner can be said to have no influence in the BCH.

In terms of quantity BCH also has a certain degree of centralization. Although the BCH is about to fork the bifurcation event can indicate that the BCH is not centralized and no centralization node can control the BCH in its entirety. But what about after the fork? What is the new currency and new ecology formed by the fork? Has it become centralized again?

Not to mention bitcoin most of the computing power is concentrated in the bit continent.

Written at the end

People's understanding of the blockchain has been affected by too much bitcoin.

Because bitcoin is decentralized people think that blockchain is equal to decentralization. In fact blockchain is not necessarily decentralized and centralization is hard to completely remove.

Moreover in this world a completely decentralized anarchy is not necessarily an ideal state.

Bitcoin cannot be withdrawn and cannot be traded. If it does not represent a blockchain there should be no transaction withdrawal.

The spirit of the blockchain is that the transaction cannot be illegally withdrawn but the correction of the transaction under the premise of maintaining justice TVB believes that this is required by the blockchain.

And the blockchain of many miners we imagined is not necessarily decentralized. Therefore TVB feels that EOS is definitely a blockchain and is a progressive blockchain.

More interestingly have we ever thought that the mechanism for the withdrawal of EOS transactions will be loved and supported by the government.

Its development may be less than the development of other blockchains and there may be less resistance from regulation.
