We are glad to announce that BP Candidates came to a consensus, validated one chain and this chain was open to transactions. This means that EOS mainnet is officially open to the public!

It is now safe to vote for Block Producers. Once we achieve 15% of tokens voting, the elected Block Producers will substitute the anonymous ABP and the network will be considered activated. Here is a guide on how to vote using cleos. We will also release SimplEOS very soon. ;)

It has been an amazing ride so far and this is just the beginning. Being part of the EOS community from the very start gave us the opportunity to participate in history being made. Great minds that do not necessarily think alike came together with the goal of creating a more decentralized fairer world and we are extremely proud to be a part of this effort. It was truly beautiful and inspirational.

Congratulations to everyone that was crazy enough to think we could change the world. We are actually doing it!

This is the phrase that was put in the first token transfer as an acknowledgment to the community:

Changing the world

EOS scalability, flexibility and usability ushers a new generation of blockchains that we hope can achieve mass adoption having profound implications in the way we organize as society and economical system. Distributed Consensus Technologies enables a new kind of governance that distributes political, economical and social power making it flow back to people and away from institutions, allowing for a more transparent trustworthy governance and a better distribution of value generate by the network.

If you want to be a part of it there are 3 ways in which we can all contribute for this to happen.

Anyone can contribute to make the EOS and other blockchain networks secure, free and scalable by participating in it. In the case of EOS specifically any token holder can contribute by voting for Block Producers that they think will contribute and add value to the ecosystem.

The more people know about this technology and its possibilities, closer we are to achieve mass adoption. Just informing yourself about what is going on and talking to people about the technology and its potential is a great way to contribute.

Distributed consensus technology blur the line between developers and users, since anyone can suggest and vote for changes in this decentralized ecosystem. This means that by discussing how a DApp should work and voting on Worket Proposals you are directly participating in the creation of it.

For now just remember to vote for Block Producers and enjoy the ride!
(If you are a token holder, because if you a block producer, let’s get to work)

Thanks for everyone that was a part of this amazing experience. Honestly, it was such a joint effort that it is impossible to mention all in one post. We hope to represent some of this here. If we forget someone’s name, just say it! (names in alphabetical order). Thank you for the great work!
