The arrogant King Abrahah

in #esteem6 years ago

For us Muslims, the Kaaba is a sacred building. Every year a crowded Ka'bah visited by Muslims who will perform the pilgrimage or umrah. Ka'bah is in Makkah City, the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

But, do you know friends that in ancient times, there was an arrogant king who wanted to destroy the Ka'bah. This arrogant king was named Abrahah. The king Abrahah was a king of the land of Yemen.

Seeing the people coming to Makkah City to trade and visit the Kaaba, the King Abraha felt jealous. He wants these people to come and visit the country he is in, Yemen.

To attract people to visit the land of Yemen, the King Abraha wanted to beautify the land of Yemen. So, then he ordered his people to build beautiful and magnificent buildings.

However, the effort is futile because no one is interested to come to the land of Yemen. Instead, they prefer to visit Makkah and the Kaaba. So, the more angry the King Abrahah knew about it.

Abrahah's king thought this was all due to the existence of the Ka'ba. Therefore, Abraha's King then planned to attack the Makka and destroy the Kaaba.

"If the Ka'bah has collapsed, surely people will flock to visit the country of Yemen," said King Abrahah to his soldiers.

So on the appointed day, the King Abrahah departed and his army rode an elephant to destroy the Ka'bah. The innocent elephants were sacrificed by the King Abraha to support his arrogance.

The king Abrahah felt great with his great army. However, the plan failed. The pride of the King Abrahah ended in perdition. Before Abrahah's King and his ten arrived in Makkah City, thousands of ababil birds attacked Abrahah's King and his army.

The birds obeyed Allah's command to thwart the invasion of the King Abrahah and his army. The ababil birds pelted Abraha's King and his army with a very hot stone pebble.

The king Abrahah and his army were in panic. They are fog. The soldiers of the King Abraha tried to save themselves. However, no one survived. The king Abrahah and all his soldiers were killed. And, the Kaaba survived the destruction.
