Saat melewati area semak di pinggir jalan saat mengendarai kendaraan, suasananya begitu panas, tanaman semak mengering. Namun kecantikan juga memudar, ketika ranting dan daun kering dengan warna kecoklatan tidak bisa lagi fotosintesis, hidup dari tanaman kering pun ini tidak bisa menyumbangkan oksigen.

Meski sifat alaminya sangat ekstrim dan batang yang busuk akan tertiup angin, kerontang kering tidak lagi berkambium. Keindahan semak liar kering tetap, membuktikan, suatu hari nanti, bahwa akan ada kehidupan dan keganasan alami untuk berkembang lagi sebelum jatuh bersama tanah.
