Computer Hangs after Opening Multiple OpenOffice Spreadsheets in Succession - Read this (Common OpenOffice Problems)

in #esteem5 years ago

Are you one those who are using OpenOffice applications? If yes, then pay attention to this article because it might help you on some possible problems that you can encounter.

Some of the most common problem that I encounter in using OpenOffice applications are, corrupted spreadsheet file, hanging spreadsheet file, slow opening of spreadsheet file, not opening spreadsheet file, slow printing of spreadsheet file.

Corrupted spreadsheet file

This usually happens when a computer accidentally lost power or the user accidentally kicked or stepped onto the power cable of the computer. What you can do is to always have a backup.

Hanging spreadsheet file

This is usually caused by a file that has a large size ranging from about 3 to 5 megabytes (MB) or higher.

When a spreadsheet file has got too many sheets or data inside it, it's size will grow, making the file slow to open.

Slow opening of spreadsheet file

This also is caused by a file that has gone very large in size. A file with a size of about 3-5 megabytes (MB) will begin to show signs of slowdown especially when you are opening them.

Not opening spreadsheet files

Most of the time this is caused by opening a file in succession just few seconds apart.

If a user opened a second or third file without waiting for the first spreadsheet file to fully open it will cause a bottleneck on the computer making all the files not to open.

A savvy user can use the Task Manager to close all the spreadsheet that is not able to open. If you don't know how to use the Task Manager you just need to restart your computer instead.

Spreadsheet file is slow to print

This is most commonly caused by a file that has a large size. Especially if the spreadsheet that you are printing has graphics in it.

If you encounter this problem you might want to minimize the content of your spreadsheet to make it smaller in size.
