Disappearing Emails in the Inbox of Webmail
If emails are very important to you, say, you are using it to transact, or you are a company accountant that heavily dependent on email to do your job, losing an email is stressful.
Webmail's interface commonly uses Horde, Roundcube, or SquirrelMail.
Last week, one of my co-employees called me about her disappearing email on her inbox inside a webmail. An inbox inside a webmail is like the inbox on use Yahoo and Gmail.
Meaning, those emails will always be there unless you delete them. But that's not the case on the company that I work for.
There are now two separate events where two users have experienced a disappearing email in their inbox.
What to do when emails disappear
Don't freak out.
If you are using a webmail don't worry because in my experience disappearing emails inside the inbox of a webmail will be back on its own.
You just have to wait. You can check if the emails have returned by logging-in to your webmail.
What's actually happening when emails disappear
There could be a temporary glitch, error, or maintenance currently happening on the server side of your email provider.
Don't worry, email providers do have a backup on every account owned by their customers.
