Last Friday, August 10, a peaceful demonstration against the governors in Bucharest, Romania. More than 110,000 participants!
Unfortunately, it was very bad, the gendarmes retaliate with violence and over 450 participants were injured.
I anticipated this situation and did not take my camera with me ... I photographed with the smartphone.

Smart move on your part. You probably saved yourself a little retaliation. Nobody wants to have that filmed. Fortunately now, everyone has a cell phone and they can no longer hide what they do to people.
I read in my papers here about the unrest over in Romania and am happy that there is news about it. I know so many times news like this is shoveled under the rug.

I'm glad you're with us. Did I misunderstand that you are going on vacation? There was a lot of violence to this manifestation ... fortunately for me and my wife, I left about half an hour before the fighting began.
Went to see my sister. No exactly vacation but, you understand. I was away. When I said unrest I was being a smart alec. I meant violence but the newspaper called it unrest. Pffft! I am so sorry for you and your wife to have to live this way, but, at least you have the young people alongside of you, learning not to take that crap from them.

About us, unfortunately, society is unprepared, the former communists who are now in power won the election because they made overwhelming promises. Unfortunately, many believed them. Now because they have the power they want to change all the laws in their favor, they want secure their power indefinitely.
That's why civil society opposes and although I'm a pessimist ... now I think we will win. Unfortunately, the losses for the country will be very high.
I have been there for a bit. I had a vacation scheduled to leave in two days for two weeks and then I will go down there for her surgery.
It always makes me nervous when former communists get in. It didn't work the first time, why would it work now? People think the leopard changes his spots? They never do.
The pessimist in you LOL Yes, but, I think there will be losses also, but, I think that the older people who have lived the violent years of Nicolae Ceausescu will not go there again. Ever. The younger can only hear what it was like and to me, it is nothing like living it.
My cousin in the Czech Republic was a concert pianist that lost all his privileges when his brother hopped the border and escaped. I know too many sad tales about communism. In theory, socialism should work well, but, nobody uses it the way it should be.

I think it is very little but I will think about your sister, I hope to send something positive to her and you! I do not have to give up the importance of politics, here everything is complicated and there are so many complications! The old communists entered all parties, from right to left ... they changed speech but not thinking. I think only their natural disappearance over time will change something.
Unfortunately I will leave with them ... I will not see the changes. It remains to pray for the children!
