RanFri 3: No Woman No Cry
Hellow Steemit Fellows๐
My fellow classmates and I before we started our Field Practice Lecture for a month at Sei Putih, North Sumatra, in 1997
You have a rights to mute me ๐๐๐ because I will be so noisy and looks like a spammy poster๐ I can't Upvote any post due to my VP, I need to recharge it to 100% so I can give my precious 2 cents to any good posts later.
This is another Rant on Friday mission I run for today, nothing's special in this post too. I still find difficulty to attach more pictures in a post. Something related to bad internet connection, but I like to challenge myself to keep steeming despite of the fact that I need to recharge my phone battery after create a post and publish it ๐ and the next one will be the third times of recharge it.
Anyway.. who likes Bob Marley's song "No Woman No cry"? I love it.. but my favourite's is the one that covered by Boney M.
I grew up with this song ๐ Mom is a big fan of Boney M, we have at least 2 Volumes of their albums. When I was a kid, I don't know what the song lyrics about๐ but when I was at junior school and learn English at school, I tried to listen the song carefully and wrote its lyric. This song is very famous amongs people in my hometown, they even translate the meaning wrongly.
The single man would used this song as an excuse to not marry any women๐๐๐
Though the justice in me wanted to correct their missinterpretation, I didn't do it. Who cares? Let them enjoy their own life๐.
In the record's version, this song length about 5 minutes, a perfect song to start the day while running the Radio Program Morning Show, I could run down to the next door coffee shop to order my coffee and prepare the script before the song fade away๐ and another one with length up to 8 minutes is "papa chico"
The station manager once hids the cassette for a week because all announcers had the same idea like me ๐๐๐ well, we're not just doing our job as announcer but also as music director and take care of the on air mixture equipment. The listeners would thought that we don't have other song collections if we keep play it every morning, right?
After few years working as a radio announcer and well-known as one of the best radio interviewer in Banda Aceh, I made friends with Local Mucisians, writers and other culture and art's practicioners. I joined a Group of World Music's musicians as manager in 2003 to 2007.
old and new member of my group, we lost many of them in Tsunami 2004, picture was taken in Lampu'uk Beach in 2005
We were a group of 40 musicians, but after Tsunami we just have few members left. See the shadow on the sand? It was me who taking this picture. We're filming some scenes for a music video. We need that music video to be considered as a participant of World Music Festival in Netherland๐ but we failed, we got no invitation to perform there.
We also have some concerts performance in Banda Aceh, Riau and Solo, but I left the group in 2007 because I must put all my focus on other activities. I remember our last big concert in 2009, I'm not joining them as manager anymore, but as the Master of Ceremony. We're conducting a Charity Concert for Ghaza which attacked by Israil. While we're in the final rehearsal, the main singer unable to join because he has another meeting, so the Music Conductor asked me to replace him๐จ๐๐๐ and the song was "No Woman No Cry" in reggae-jazz (bossanova I said but not at all) style๐๐๐๐. All the group members knew how bad I am as a singer, a deft tone and too many improve they said๐๐๐๐ญ๐๐๐ but they love the challenging moment to play for me though I know the soul of the song.
thinking about me singing, now. They know I could sang "Fly me to the moon" very well๐ but, the music conductor said, there's no fun on letting me sang a simple song๐
I'm a lullaby singer specialist for all my nephews and nieces, because I could sang a whole bedtime story for them ๐๐ they'd better fast sleep rather than listening to my song๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐
