If i may ask, have you had an exercise today? Chances are you have not if you are an American adult. As a matter of fact, only around 20 percent of those in the US are recommended by government aerobic exercise weekly —“at least 2.5 hours of steady-intensity aerobic exercise each week or 1 hour and 15 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, or a combination of both.

Below are some few tips that will motivate you to do more exercise;

  • Commit to Exercising
    First things first, write down your the specific exercise you want to do and the reasons behind it. Writing what you want to achieve on a piece of paper helps make it re-reading and palpable, anytime you see it you'll feel motivated once again. Make the paper a contract with yourself. You might even want to tell others like friends or family about your exercise plan and goal. For some people, telling others makes the dedication more real and also holds them more accountable for sticking to it.

  • Find an Activity You Enjoy
    In the first place, why would anyone cling to a workout routine that he/she doesn't like? Trying out new sports is quite enjoyable. It’s so much easier and fun-to commit to a new activity you like rather than exercising barely because you should and can. Research (and common sense) shows you are more likely to cling to an exercise routine you like rather than one you don’t enjoy.

  • Exercise with a friend
    There is a general saying ''No man is an island''. We are all social beings and connecting to others can be an important part of clinging to our workout plan. Exercising with a friend, partner or colleague you like makes the experience more fun and one you’ll want to repeat. A friend can assist in providing that prod when you don’t feel like exercising. You won’t want to let him/her down if you planned on meeting to exercise.

Interacting with a friend could be used as a tool to avert distraction from any physical discomfort you get from the exercise activity. By yourself, you may discover little aches or feeling out of breath, but when you're with a friend you may be so interested in hearing about his/her latest work escapade, a movie you haven't seen, or a car he/she wants to buy, with all this discussions you might have run 3 miles without noticing it.

I find exercising to be a bit stressful. Nonetheless, the benefits are well worth the trouble. So i do it maybe once or twice a week

Try making exercise part of your daily routine, its keeps you physically fit
