SERUNE KALEE ONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS OF ACEH

On this occasion the author will reveal a little story about Seurune Kalee. Well Serune Kalee is a traditional musical instrument in the form of trumpet typical of Aceh and has been designed with highly structured to clarinet-like shape. Serune Kalee is usually played as one of the main instruments in a traditional musical performance in Aceh, in addition to playing serune kalle also accompanied by geundrang, rapai, and a number of other traditional instruments. This musical instrument is not only known by aceh people, but also famous by the outside community because this kalee surune has existed since the reign of young iskandar.

Serune Kalee still plays an active role in the activities of Acehnese people such as weddings, reception, or entertainment events. Serune kalee is often used also in various aceh dances such as dance tarek trawl. Dance peumulia jame, dance rupuh lampuan and masi bnyak other dances it. This instrument is classified into a type of aerofon, or instrument that has the source of sound from the air blast in the cavity
