The Owl in my hand, just after setting her free, and it is time to let her fly again.

This was the bright morning, it was not good for my veggies because I need to watering it this morning. The sky was so clear. My green mustard did not grow at all, because I left it for few days to drive a family vacation to Banda Aceh last week. So, I need to think another replacement, water spinach perhaps.

I just finished watering spinach when I came back home and my daughter came to me in hurry. Abi, ada burung hantu tersangkut di pagar jaring (There is an owl trapping on the net). Please help her (not sure male or female). My little daughter and the other kindergarten was so excited to help the owl, but they could not do anything to release the own from the net. It seems the owl has been on the net since the night, because the owl is one of nocturnal birds that is able to fly in short distance in the day light.

She was trapped so bad on the net, and it was difficult to release her without cutting the net

The reason of the net is there is because I use the net for the fence to protect my plant from chicken and other animal of my neighbor, because in my place we rise the chicken and other farming animal wildly, some of us sometimes never make any cage and nest for them. That is natural here in my village, so when I plant something I need to make fence to protect it from those animal.

It took a little time for me to help the owl, finally I had to use knife to cut the net in order to release. In my area (in my property) it is strictly forbidden to hunt the bird or animal using any kind of tool which is able to kill it, except for the bugs such as squirrel or rat. I love any kind of animal, but not snake. Most of them I kill if I consider it harmful to the kids playing around the house.

I pray to her for long and healthy life, prosper regeneration and able to see her again. I did not take her to the nest since I saw her able to fly by herself, otherwise I will take care of her for little time, I had experience to rise up the owl once long time ago.

She is saying "thank you" to me after letting her flying away to the wild again. Standing on the big branch about 15 meters high. I could not make any better picture of her.

Thank you very much for reading my blog, wish you all the best

With my best regard

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst

You have a kind heart, my friend. And great job teaching your daughter to have a kind heart as well. Blessings to you and your family!

Hi my bro, thank you for your kind words, it is the best way to show them how to protect the nature. Not only telling them to do it, but showing them what we can do instead. Say my regard to your family too.

Poor little darling im so happy to see she was fine at the end great job;)

Thank you for stopping by my blog @drawmeaship, it is necessary to show the little kids about protecting the nature since the early stage of learning process.

The poor things
The kids got to save the owl with you
Good to know the owl is safe and not too hurt
And what a handsome bird :D

Exactly @kaerpediem, we need to show them how to protect the nature, and the best way is not telling but showing what is the good thing to do, only then they will remember it for long time.

At least you freed it and could let it fly once more and enjoy life.

Yep, that was the right time, she could have died if the kid did not see her and let me know about the owl. Thank you for stopping by my post @thegoliath

Wow.. great job for the kindness

Oh, the poor thing. Glad you got her out in time and she was able to fly again

that is right @simplymike, I wish she could survive for the next time and my little princess was happy to see her flying away.

I am glad that the owl ended well. It is very scary that people harm it. My daughter loves owls, she even has a toy with which she sleeps.

In my family, we have set certain rule of harming animal, only bugs and harmful animal is permitted to kill, it started since I was a kid, I played sling shoot, and I killed a finch bird that had had babies in the nest, I told my father about that, and guess what?, I can not play with the sling shoot anymore. He explain to me how important to keep the balance of the nature. Since then, I watch out what I do, not to harm any animal without any purposes, and I teach my kids to do not harm them as well, @amalinavia.
