Save the life from natural disaster

in #esteem6 years ago

The government has taken an initiative to form long-term master plan to combat natural disaster. Under this plan, the roadmap will be developed and implemented in phases. The main objective of this plan is to protect Bangladesh from the potential risk of natural disasters from the next fifty years to 100 years. Coordinated action will also be taken to prevent such issues as the risk factors for the environment.
According to Planning Commission sources, due to geopolitical conditions, the risk of flood, drought, cyclone and other disasters will increase further in the coming decades. In addition to reducing the quality of water, salinity will increase. The main plan is to take the necessary measures to prevent such risks. It is learned that the formal work of planning will start on March 1. It will take two and a half years to build this document. Then the implementation phase will begin. Netherlands has agreed to give Bangladesh 88 crores as technical assistance to make it. This is the first in the country to be in large scale to protect against natural disasters. How much money needed to implement the master plan is still not set. According to the sources, it can be said only after setting the outline for which investment will be required. The discussions will be discussed with the multinational corporation ADB, the World Bank and other donors on funding. As well as the government's own funds have the goal of financing.
According to sources, the proposed plan has been named 'Bangladesh Delta Plan-200'. Its aim is to create a framework for ensuring high growth, ensuring water supply and food security to prevent the natural disaster of Bangladesh and to set up a plan for implementation.
Asked about this, member of the General Economics Division of Planning Commission said. Shamsul Alam said that it will be the first master plan document to face natural disaster. There will be guidance in reducing environmental risks. Following these guidelines in the five-year plan, it will be implemented.
According to sources, the planned long-term targets will be integrated by integrating all sectors related to agriculture, fisheries, industry, forestry, water management, sanitation, and reducing the impact of natural disaster. The target has been set to make documentary programs of 19 subjects with priority.
Eminent environmental scientist said. Ainun Nishat believes that our main problem in tackling natural disasters is infrastructure and maintenance.

It requires a lot of investment. In implementing the proposed master plan, there will be opportunities for government, individual sector, international donor agencies and NGOs to participate in the financing process.
