My Thursday Favorites #26 Contest Entry - Color!

My favorite color is Ocean Blue, and I am particular about the specific color of the ocean I am talking about.

This is a clear silvery blue that appears when the sun is low behind you and the ocean is in front. The ocean should have a flat sand bottom and be smooth itself. Too many waves will change the color to something else.

This color most often appears at dawn and not so much at dusk. The day kicks too too much pollution blocking the sun, and it is rare for the ocean to be flat enough during that later hour.

I first noticed this color when I had a job that had me working on the beach in Sarasota Florida. I took morning walks from my beachfront hotel and saw this lovely sight most days before work. I was lucky to not be late for the job as the color drew me in and made me sit on the beach soaking it in.

Later, while living in Coronado California, I sometimes saw this color on my morning walks. The Pacific Ocean is not as calm as the Gulf of Mexico, so I was lucky when the conditions were right.

I tried to get a photo of this color for my Canva poster, and this is the closest I could come. It is not exactly right, but still reminds me of how much I like this color. I looked for pages and pages of the free and paid Canva photos. None of them showed the Ocean Blue I am talking about.

I have not been to a beach in many years now. I hope the next one I see will show me my color again, so this is a goal.
