North Korea threatens to cancel a meeting between their leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump. The move will be taken if Washington does not stop pushing Pyongyang to denuclearize.

"We will not be interested in holding talks again, if (they) just try to push us unilaterally to a corner and force us to release nuclear," said North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan.

Kye-gwan, as reported by Anadolu Agency on Wednesday (16/5), then criticized American officials for using the denuclearization of Libya as a precedent for North Korea to follow. Kye-gwan feels offended, because he thinks North Korea's nuclear technology is much more developed than Libya.

"The US says that they will give us compensation and economic benefits if we remove nuclear, but we never look for economic developments by putting hope in the US and such an agreement will never happen," he said.

Earlier, Kye-gwan said it was not interested in negotiations that required denuclearization. He said that Pyongyang will go to negotiate with Trump only if he is interested in improving relations.

The North's diplomat urged Washington to hold talks with Pyongyang with a strong desire to boost bilateral ties to get a positive response from North Korea.

North Korea should only give up its nuclear weapons when Israel does the same. Hopefully Kim is not as stupid as Khaddafi.
