Road-Blocked Highways

Road blocks are a common sight on Nigerian roads.
As at last count, you get a serious road blockade like these in the picture every 2 kilometres on some highways, sometimes every 1000 metres.

There was a time when the Nigerian Police put a ban on roadblocks anf I know from certain the ban is still functional, but the police know for breaking every rule in the book keep defying the rules they set.

Don't get me started at the display of criminality that stinks to the lowest hells.

At the road blocks, travelers and drivers are exploited and in most cases robbed.

Despite these road blocks, travelers still get robbed by dare-devil armed robbers and it makes one constantly wonder if this is caused by the police.
There has also been cases where poliemen where found guilty of these highway robberies.

What should we do?
