Selamat siang sahabat steemian semuanya, bagaimana kabarnya? Semoga semuanya baik-baik saja dan selalu sanggup menjalankan aktivitas kesehariannya di dunia nyata maupun di dunia maya.
Baiklah, pada kesempatan ini saya hendak mengusik kembali pengetahuan anda tentang ilmu sains. Sejak sekolah dasar kita diperkenalkan bahwa di dunia ini ada 3 macam fasa alias wujud zat yaitu padat, cair dan gas. Pemahaman ini terus bertahan sampai beberapa waktu tanpa ada merevisinya, pada akhirnya kita telah melakukan kecurangan besar terhadap salah satu wujud zat yang jarang disebutkan yaitu plasma.
Nah, plasma ini bukanlah wujud padat, cair atau gas, melainkan dia adalah fasa keempat yang mendiami hampir 99,9% dari total volume alam semesta. Dilihat dari wujudnya plasma berbentuk gas, tetapi mereka merupakan atom-atom yang tidak stabil karena kekurangan elektron akibat terlepas oleh energi yang luar biasa besar di alam semesta.
Sifat unik dari plasma adalah bereaksi terhadap medan magnet dan medan listrik karena molekulnya memiliki muatan masing-masing dalam campuran. Mengutip dari salah satu website sciens
Pada tanggal 7 september 1999 dengan mengambil foto planet bumi dari luar angkasa terlihat bola bumi mengapung diatas lautan hitam yang tidak tampak oleh mata maupun kamere biasa. Berdasarkan penelitian, lautan hitam tersebut mengandung medan magnet dan medan listrik yang bereaksi dengan magnetosfer bumi.
