How to Apply Blush According to Your Face Shape

• Heart Shape. Using your face brush, apply blush in a “C” shape from the top of the temple down to your cheekbone. If needed, add more product and blend.

• Oblong. Add blush on the apples of your cheeks, blend towards the nose, then bring it towards the temples. Use a fluffy brush for easier application.

• Square. Using your face brush, sweep blush across the cheekbones onto your cheekbones. Use upwards strokes to even everything out.

• Round. Smile and place blush to the apples of your cheeks. Brush blush towards the temple and down towards the earlobe.

• Oval. Using soft strokes, apply blush at the most prominent part of the cheekbone and down towards the earlobe. Blend up into the temple.

For your blush to look as beautiful as possible, it’s essential to choose the right shade. Here’s a breakdown of which colors look best on which skin types:

FAIR SKIN

Plum, baby pink and peach colored blushes are ideal for pale-skin beauties that want a rosy glow. For best results, look for a palette that offers a variety of colors.

MEDIUM SKIN

Medium pink, mauve, and peach shades are a medium-skinned girl’s best bet if they want more color to their skin. These blush tones add warmth and depth to this skin tone.

OLIVE SKIN

Rose, bronze, and peach look gorgeous on olive-skinned gals. These colors give skin a subtle glow without going overboard.

DARK SKIN

Deep terra-cotta shades are the best blush types for women with darker skin. Fiery oranges look intimidating, yet are ideal for the bold woman who wants a pop of color.
