A Peek - Poetry
It was but only for a moment,
Closing them eyelids,
A peek into the future,
A glimpse that is.
A tired soul,
That has traveled wide,
On many a quests,
Rests under the shade in thirst,
While the vultures,
They circle in the distance.
It was a glimpse,
Only that it was,
For to be a fulfilled prophecy,
A danger to the kingdom.
The emperor rested on his laurels,
Hoping and wishing,
Only for the best for his people,
It was then that,
The traveler and the emperor,
Became one,
They always have been.
