Second host homestay - 2018 Summer of Tokyo

After a short drive, we reached our second host family's house, Okasan Y. She stay in the city, we feel totally different, there are tall buildings and shops along the streets.

The houses are all concrete and the roads within the residential area are very narrow. Therefore it is very troublesome for those multipurpose vehicles to move around even parking at own yard.

Okasan Y is one of the Mr's host last time in Japan year 1999. She is one the member who participated the cultural activities by hosting the exchange students.

She knows English well, therefore we can communicate and understand each other easily. She then shared and teaches a lot of their Japanese traditional culture to us.

Taken in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 2011

All these years we have been writing to each other, she even comes to Malaysia to visit us in year 2011! That time we were located in Kuala Lumpur, the main city of Malaysia. Therefore, she stayed with us and we brought her to tour around the city. She tried our local foods and fruits, she is enjoying it very much.

We feel wonderful that she can accept the special aromatic tastes of our tropical fruits! Like Durians, cempedak, rambutan, papaya, ciku, duku, langsat, mangosteens, mangoes and etc. She loves it all! Therefore we brought durian dodol for her this time to visit her in Japan.

The spicy foods like nasi lemak, she has tried and like it too. However the most favourite in her memory is the Bakuteh, she names it "Bah Kut Tea". Therefore we brought her few packs of bahkutea to cook herself in Japan. She is very exciting to see the bahkutea soup packets!

In addition, She also taught us to how to prepare the authentic sushi meal by using local existing ingredients smartly. The tips that she shared are useful! I manage to make sushi successfully until recently without failure. It tastes authentic! I am proud to myself. ( To be honest, I hate cooking and very bad in cooking.) It is useful tips for someone like me who does not has talent in cooking.

We feel happy to meet her again in Japan, she is still flexible and energetic like before! She practices yoga dance and play piano daily. She keeps herself fit by her active lifestyle. By the way, She is very talkative!

Due to the Obon summer holidays, her son and daughter have brought the children back home! Her house is very pack with all of us. The kids were excited to see new friends and they played well together. It is interesting to see kids communicate in their own language.
