Powerful engine new pulsar

Bajaj have launched the new Pulsar NS160 in India at Rs 78,368 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the price mentioned is including GST which will come into effect from July 1st, 2017. The Bajaj Pulsar has dominated proceedings in the entry-level performance market in India. And the Pulsar 150 has been its largest selling Pulsar offering and still rules the roost with respect to sales in the 150cc segment. But this segment has seen a lot of action in the past one year as Suzuki launched the Gixxer, Yamaha getting the fuel injected FZ and Fazer alongwith Honda launching the CB Hornet 160R competition has heated up.

The styling of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 will be exactly similar to the Pulsar NS200 that has been recently relaunched in India. This should make the new motorcycle a handsome looking bike with its edgy lines and brawny styling. The instrument cluster will also be a straight lift which is a part-analogue-part-digital console. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 will be powered by a 160cc displacement, single-cylinder motor producing 15.5PS at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 14.6Nm at 6,500rpm.

Bajaj engineers have worked on reducing the NVH levels of the new mill to make it more refined. The powerplant will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Riding posture should be sporty and comfortable owing to the raised clip-on handle bars and the rear-set foot pegs. Wheelbase of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 stands at 1,363mm while the bike weigs 142kg. Ground clearance is high at 176mm and tank capacity is 12 litres. The Bajaj Pulsar NS16 features telescopic forks at front and a monoshock setup at the back for dampening. Braking will be done by a disc brake at front and drum brake at rear. The new Pulsar NS160 will compete against the Yamaha FZ-S, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
