Inflammatory bowel disease- Crohn's disease

Hello everyone,today i will tell about crohns and ulcerative colitis diseases.these two diseases are inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD).

Crohn's disease - inflammation can affects whole GIT from mouth to end but it commonly affects ileum and ascending colon..
Here, you can see skip lesions i.e., in between inflammatory sites or regions we can see normal mucosal effect.
Smoking is one of the aggrevating cause for crohns disease.so we have to tell patients to avoid it...
If a person was underwent to appendicectomy he is more prone to develop crohn's disease..
Ulcers and fissures are seen in the mucosa and we it looks like cobblestone appearance.
Diarrhoes with abdominal pain are symptoms..bleeding may be seen in faecus.
He complains or experience pain in right iliac fossa and it mimics appendicitis..
String sign is seen on barium meal
These are the some important points about crohn's disease.. and its very difficults to differentiate crohns from ulcerative colitis because of similar complaints..
