When we talk about it, of course there are interesting things in the life of a butterfly, one of which is the process of birth before it becomes an adult butterfly.

Well ... In this case I will discuss the birth process in accordance with scientific research in research. Scientifically the process of the occurrence of butterflies from egg, caterpillar, cocoon to adult butterflies is referred to as metamorphosis. The following will mention the process,

1. Egg-shaped

For insects such as butterflies, of course, begin the process of metamorphosis starting with eggs, each female butterfly will lay eggs according to the state of the species. Butterflies will choose healthy leaves to lay their eggs in healthy leaves, this is chosen by the parent so that when the eggs hatch they immediately get their food.

Small white eggs are generally placed behind the leaves, this is done because to protect the eggs from prey from predators, even 3 or up to 5 days the small eggs will hatch by means of a hole in the end of the egg so that the caterpillars small will come out of its shell.

2. Become a caterpillar

After going through several days in general 3 or 5 days depending on the species itself, the eggs hatch in the form of larvae, the larvae here are said to be caterpillars. When he turns into a caterpillar then everyone will feel disgusted seeing it and in that phase he needs a lot of leaves for food in preparing his body changes to the next stage.

When in a position as a caterpillar, the changes in his body the faster he will enlarge beyond his skin this is because he always eats. Then naturally the caterpillar will change shape again and will enter the third phase, which is the process of becoming cocoon.

3. Pupate

Change for change changes naturally from becoming larvae into large caterpillars, soon becoming caterpillars, so they will soon find shelter in a comfortable place, this is done to transform themselves to the cocoon stage.

This habit they will look for wood leaves or other things that are considered safe from the predator then they will wrap themselves during the time specified.

When it becomes a cocoon with a white oval shape, if the grip will feel soft and hard. Generally they will be in a cocoon for 7 to 20 days, it also depends on the species itself.

4. Become a butterfly

At this stage or about 20 days, the cocoon will peel off the skin so the butterflies will come out looking as usual, when the butterflies come out of the cocoon the wings of the butterfly will look wet, small, tangled, and sometimes the shell still clings to the cocoon still attached to its wings which caught when it came out of the cocoon. Then his body will be exposed to the wind so that his wings slowly become hard like butterflies as usual.
