As I mention at the beginning of tests and measurements, the more you plan and the more prepared you are the greater your success will be.

To ensure you achieve great progress in your fat loss, you have to be organised, it will make your life so much easier as well.

Meals Rather than Menus

I found the best way to approach nutrition is to plan meals rather than menus, if you come up with as many different meals using the correct method, then you are giving yourself so many combinations you can get to the point where you are spoiled for choice, it just takes some thinking about at the start.

If you plan your macronutrient intake over a daily menu (example a breakfast with higher carbohydrates or a dinner with more protein to make up what was missing during the rest of the day) the problem is that if foods aren’t available to you or you don’t feel like that meal, you need to come up with something that will match that particular meal make up.

If all your meals are close to your macronutrient needs should that problem arise you can simply swap that meal out for another you have designed it saves on hassle and confused ponderings over a menu sheet and calorie book believe me.

Keep your meals simple to start with, the roll example is perfect, it’s not going to take you long and is pretty effortless don’t you think? Coming up with 7 different variations of those with different meats and salads breads and fruits will give you a lunch for every day of the week that takes no time what so ever.

Now if you did the same for breakfast and dinner and came up with some great snacks you’ve got a pretty varied menu quite quickly without thinking about it. And should something happen you have options to swap it out and replace it with another meal.

Preparing your meals the day before

If you have a busy schedule at work or time is precious then make things easy on yourself and prepare everything in advance, I have the opportunity to be able to prepare most things as and when I want to eat them however it wasn’t always the case and it will not remain the case.

My favourite breakfast is porridge with flaxseed and mixed fruit, you can’t make it in advance but you can measure out the ingredients and have them ready in the fridge the day before. When I get up it’s a simple case of throwing it in a pan and turning it on, give it a stir every once in a while and then stuffing my face :D

Invest in a Steamer

Those things are sent by god I swear. Get in from work whack a nice bit of oily fish on the bottom, potatoes in the middle and vegetables on the top layer turn it on go do what you need to after a hard day, wait for the ping and go and enjoy a nutritious meal.

There are numbers of other ways you can stick to your nutrition and not have it affect your life and I will discuss these as I expand the course.

For now the simpler you keep things at the start the easier it will be and you can ease into your new lifestyle with as little fuss and upheaval as possible. Once you’re used to it by all means experiment and complicate things.
