Unfortunately the company / industry does not care about your fate, no matter how much you need to work or how good a skill you have, they (the industry) will not recruit you if you do not have the value they need. Maybe you can fight for your own passion, but no one cares about your passion, if your passion is not needed by others then be prepared to get behind it.
