Expand Steemits Tags

I feel a bad habit people need to break on Steemit is always making content that revolves around Steemit and the popular tags. Steemit has been stuck in this " tunnel vew " for a long time now. People want votes so they make content on tags people watch but in the long run this hurts steemit. Many tags that are popular on You Tube are just never touched here because people all make the same conent.

I've started posting my synthesizer based video with the tag "synthesizer". That's a gernal tag that should already be used today by many Steemians but the nature of Steemit and chasing votes has KILLED the concept of people starting new tags.

Steemit doesn't need another video talking about Steemit or about other Steemians. Yes, you have a higher chance of getting paid but what are you doing for the blockchain in the long run ? Making the same old Steemit content on the same old tags and not creating anything of value that would pull people to the platform.

Steemit needs content ceators who will take the charge and fill in the voids the pure money chasers won't touch. Let's stop thinking about payouts and think about the future of Steemit and expanding it's content. Just my opinion
