Honeybees are a name given to some bee species that have the ability to produce honey and beeswax. Of all the 20,000 species of bees in the world, there are only seven species belonging to the honeybee group. They are insects and they all belong to the genus Apis. One of the most famous honey bees is the Western Honey Bees.

There are three honey bees and each has their own work or function. The first is the Queen. The queen is a female honeybee with a job to spawn and be the mother of all bees in the colony. There is only one queen in the bee colony. Exclusive food called "royal jelly" is what makes the female honeybee grow bigger than other honey bees and become queen. The second is Workers. The workers of all female honey bees in the colony except the queen. They can consist of as many as 60,000 bees in a colony. Some of their tasks are: feeding the children, collecting food, receiving nectar, cleaning the nest, keeping the duties, producing honey and also producing beeswax. The third is Drone. Drone is all the bees in the colony. Drone has only one job and that is to fertilize the queen during the mating process and will soon die after that.

The largest bee species in the world is the Indonesian resin bee that can grow up to 39 millimeters in size and the smallest species is the Dwarf dwarf bee with a size of 2 millimeters. They have a distinctive body of insects with three parts: head, chest and abdomen. They have two large eyes, two antennas, a mouth and a long trunk on their head. They use the trunk to suck nectar from the flowers that will be stored on their hind legs. There are three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings on their chests. There are nine segments in their stomach and the last three segments are modified into sting.
