Myanmar Traditional Novitiation Ceremony Part(3)
King Asoka of India had made meritorious deeds by digging 84,000 water reservoirs. But he did not consider as a recipient of Buddha Sasana. One who initiate his own son or other's son into Buddhist order can be considered as a recipient of Buddha Sasana. Myanmar Buddhists, therefore, must do the novitiation. If a Myanmar family has no son for novitiation, they have to find a boy from other family for that meritorious deed. So, every family ardently wishes to have a son. As man can become novice as well as monk, man is considered to be more noble than woman among Myanmar Buddhists.
အိႏၵိယႏိုင္ငံတြင္ အာေသာကမင္းႀကီးသည္ ေရတြင္းေပါင္း ႐ွစ္ေသာင္းေလးေထာင္၊ ေရကန္ေပါင္း ႐ွစ္ေသာင္းေလးေထာင္၊ လႉဒါန္းခဲ့သည္။ သို႔ေသာ္ သာသနဒါယကာ မခံရ။ သာသနာ့ အေမြကို မခံရ။ မိမိ၏ရင္မွ ျဖစ္ေသာသားျဖစ္ေစ၊ တစ္ပါးသူ၏ သားျဖစ္ေစ ႐ွင္ျပဳေပးမွသာလ်ွင္ သာသနာ့ အေမြခံထိုက္သည္။ ဗုဒၶ၏ အေမြကို ခံထိုက္သူျဖစ္သည္။ ထိုေၾကာင့္ ျမန္မာ ဗုဒၶဘာသာတို႔သည္ ေယာက်ာ္းေလးေမြးပါက မလြဲမေသြ ႐ွင္ျပဳၾကရမည္။ ျမန္မာတို႔သည္ မိမိတို႔မိသားစုတြင္ ႐ွင္ျပဳရန္ ေယာက်ာ္းေလး မပါဝင္ပါက အျခားကေလးတစ္ဦးဦးအား ႐ွင္ျပဳေပးကာ ဗုဒၶ အေမြကို ခံယူၾကသည္။ ထိုေၾကာင့္ မိမိတို႔ မိသားစုထဲတြင္ ႐ွင္ျပဳခြင့္ရေစရန္ ေယာက်ာ္းေလးတစ္ဦး ပါဝင္ေမြးဖြားေစလိုေသာဆႏၵျပင္းစြာ ႐ွိၾကသည္။ ေယာက်ာ္းေလးမ်ားသည္ ဗုဒၶ အေမြကို ခံႏိုင္ရန္ ကိုရင္ ရဟန္းျပဳလုပ္ႏိုင္ေသာေၾကာင့္လည္း မိန္းကေလးမ်ားထက္ ပို၍ျမတ္သည္ဟူေသာ အယူအဆ ႐ွိျခင္းျဖစ္၏။
Lord Buddha urged his laymen to do the novitiation in simple scale, but Myanmar extravagantly donate in such deeds. They give away their all, till the surplus boiled rice water runs as a stream.
ဗုဒၶျမတ္စြာဘုရားသည္ ကိုရင္ဝတ္ျခင္းကို ႐ိုးသားေအးခ်မ္းစြာ ျပဳလုပ္ရန္ အဆုံးအမ႐ွိေသာ္လည္း ျမန္မာတို႔သည္ သားသမီးမ်ား၏ ႐ွင္ျပဳနားထြင္းမဂၤလာမ်ားတြင္ ႐ွိသမ်ွ အကုန္လႉပစ္တတ္၏။ ထမင္းေရေခ်ာင္းစီး လႉသည္ဟု ဆိုၾကသည္။
