A Rohingya Caravan of Exodus Arrested in Hlegu

authorities arrested 49 Rohingya trafficking victims in Hlegu township, Yangon Region
on February 19, 2020, according to RFA.

The source also mentioned that they have been arrested from a gully about three furlong away from Chite Gon hamlet of Sabu Taung VT located near the mile post (25 mile 6 furlong) of Yangon-Naypyidaw Highway.

The caravan of exodus comprises 18 men, 28 women and 3 children. They hail from Kyaukpyu, Sittwe, Minbya and Buthidaung and were being trafficked to Malaysia.

The victims will soon be sent for trial, according to the source.
