Powerdown Statistics #8 - March 28th - April 10th
Every two weeks or so I like to compare the current power down statistics and see how we stand.
Here they are:
28th March 2019

Now that the SBD conversion has almost completely stopped (only about 5500 SBD was converted last week) it makes sense that the amount of SBD is growing again.
On conversion, the SBD is burned and if that doesn't happen it will simply add up.
None of this is a problem btw unless we see STEEM drop again.
The inflation of Steem is still correct at around ~0,5 million added new STEEM per week. Just like the last report. That's good.
When it comes to inflation everything is stable right now.
I would like to see more people power up then down but that's not the case.
Still, when you think about it at 108 million liquid STEEM isn't that much.
At current value that's roughly 50 million USD.
Some of the bigger crypto's could eat STEEM up and they wouldn't even blink.
Lately, I feel more and more that STEEM is being pressed down like a spring, ready to explode.
There is too much going on, too many projects building, expanding. Working hard.
Recent Examples from just last week:
Steemhunt offering a 20% return on STEEMPOWER (in SBD, STEEM and HUNT TOKEN).
Steem Monsters collaborating with the TRON community (market cap 13x times bigger than STEEM).
As long as I can say and explain to anyone why STEEM is valuable and can showcase what's being build here I'm good.

It makes a lot of sense for a big blockchain to start an account and buy 1M SP. Then they can reward Steemians to virtually complete tasks much like oracle d. For half a million dollars these cryptos could nearly double their communities outreach online.

I wonder how Steem being moved into the Steem Engine market shows up as it is probably locked up while being SteemP, right? That could also be a driver of Steem remaining unpowered given the amount of tokens being created.

i have seen another report somewhere recently and the sad fact is indeed that more people are still selling their steem, rather than powering up. For me I should hit 8k sp today, really happy about that but I still want to get more while the getting is good.
The higher the price the harder it is to get some. People really do not seem to understand that.
These stats keep me wondering and looking at my own sp amount compare to this volume stats
50 millions is not much but is better that more people still power up!

That is pretty exciting about TRON. It's too bad that they couldn't have done something like that with EOS I feel like it has a lot more potential. That is just my opinion though. With the higher STEEM and SBD prices people are probably happy to finally see a little bit of profit!
