That's scary. Steemit doesn't have the capital that facebook has. That's why you have the choice of either waiting a week-2 weeks or paying for your account. Steemit can't pay for everyones account, and maybe facebook can't either, but they have such prominence it doesn't really matter.
I doubt Facebook would ever pay people for posts like Steemit, even through crypto, when they get all the content they want for free. It would likely be connected with advertisers, and explain why they've already banned crypto advertising.
