Facebook India: New Tools to Protect Women in India

In past few years Indian Women are facing many issues over the giant social network. Several times we saw in our wall some girls are posting that someone create a fake account with their DP and people are getting abusive messages from that fake profile. Some people are also downloading those picture and posting them in some adult networks. These are only few example. To resolve all these Facebook launch two new features. By using this people can terminate the downloading their profile picture.

The first tool that they launch is called photo guard tool. It will keep others from being able to download, share, or send the photo in a Facebook message. To use this feature people need to update their Facebook app. Profile picture with photo guard will display in blue border and shield.

The second feature is a design overlay. By using this feature people can put several different pattern in their profile picture. As per study this feature will make users 75% less likely to copy the profile picture.

Both tools will be promoted in Indian users' news feeds, and they'll be available in over 30 local Indian languages. We hope sexual harassment will reduce in India after these features.
