What A Difference A Day Made
We Were So Lucky With The Weather
For the past week we have had my mum staying with us, visiting from Gozo. In order that my brother might get to see here while she's here we arranged a gettogether this weekend.
It happened to be my nephews birthday so we decided to go for a barbecue at my daughter's house who lives about 15 minutes up the road but, unike us, has a garden.
We've been anxiously watching the weather forecast since there were severe weather warnings for Friday. However, the high winds and storms didn't arrive until Saturday which, although it made it a bit of a pain to do the shopping in, at least didn't ruin the party.
Yesterday started overcast with a few showers here and there but brightened up as guest began to arrive and stayed that way for the duration.
It was the first time that the 3 grandkids had met each other being older than babies so it was lovely to all be together.
My brother and sister-in-law have just left after a full English breakfast here.They arrived in a heavy downpour and left in another one. This was the view out my window when I started writing this post, although it doesn't really capture just how heavy the rain was actually falling.
Thank goodness the party was yesterday and not today or Saturday. Perfect timing I would say. Although, as I write the sky is beginning to brighten, so maybe we're in for a nice afternoon after all. 😁
