This touch my heart so much I cannot express. My Mother was similar and did not show Love easily. Ive always felt bad that we did not have a good relationship. But as you said she is still my Mother. Thank you for sharing.
I decided a long time ago the relationship wasn't mine to make better or worse. I have a sister and a brother who are very much like mother's personality ... we're not in touch. Not at war, but not in touch which makes sure we're not a war.
Can't choose family, can choose friends.
