Echo chamber. (poem)

A voice in the dark, that nobody will hear.
Taken by strangers
To places, only the devil does not fear.

Whispers from the door.
Looks of pity or lust.
I've taken everything you have given
But only because I must.

My heart is so heavy, it pulls at my throat.
Words become noises, wiped away by my coat.

If my eyes can close, real, real, tight.
I won't feel a thing, on those darkest of nights.

My soul will be numb and rock I become.
You can take what is left
and beat me schtum.

The power of love will see us through
I save my soul
To reunite with you

They think we forget and heal in time.
But I still have memories
Of a nursery rhyme.

So for now I am alone
And I have no one to hold
My brother has gone, both of us sold.
The moon lights the sky but I never get to sleep
Just lay there, muttering
Little Bo Peep...

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep
And doesn’t know where to find them;
Leave them alone,
And they’ll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Bo-Peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke she found it a joke,
for still they all were fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,
Determined for to find them.
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they’d left all their tails behind ’em!

It happened one day, as Bo-Peep did stray
Unto a meadow hard by—
There she espied their tails, side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hillocks she raced;
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
That each tail should be properly placed.

Thoughts go out to all the shattered families around the world. We will have you in our thoughts and 2018 will see a fresh push for justice within the Family courts.
