RE: A Ray of Hope: Healthcare Workers Speaking Out Against Medical Kidnapping
The medical system is sick.
There is another form of medical kidnapping I’ve seen first hand. People with mental disabilities & no family swallowed by gov teaching hospitals for surgical training.
What happens if a homeless guy with dementia gets sent to a hospital, does he or she have the right to refuse treatment? What if they are injured & incapacitated? It just takes two surgeons to agree there is a legal need for surgery & they will start slicing & dicing while training there surgical students. Saw the same poor guy get multiple exploratory abdominal surgeries in a very short time while I was a student & the guy had no family & no ability to speak for himself. Basically a lab rat for the next generation of sociopathic drs. Makes me wonder how many more “patients” there are like that poor guy around the country
It's even worse than that! Did you know that you can't get medical treatment in the US without signing a release that gives the doctor- any doctor- permission to make determinations as to your mental health?
Am not at all surprised to hear that. They’ve been dedicating resources towards autonomy for at least the last 100 years
